Then, you can let them shuffle the deck, in which you have left the joker. You can then miracle change the card so it literally snaps into thier card before thier eyes.
Its an alright trick, but it needs a story or something to make it emotionally resonate with the spectator- then it would be a great trick.
SamGurney wrote:It depends entireley upon the performer. What could suit me, would almost certainly not suit you and vice versa. It is much better if you come up with the presentation.
For example, I know someone, who if they knew anything about magic, would be able to pull off some corny storyline about love and transform it into a beautiful piece of magic, but that if I tried to do it, it would inevitably be a corny and cheesy, hideous, even cringe worthy piece of tat.
SamGurney wrote:Yeah, like I said, what suits one performer doesn't suit the next.
And btw, it doesn't matter what steal you use, if it creates the same effect, I only said C steal because that's what i'd use, not because i think it's the only way of doing it.
Anyway, what's your presentation, it would be interesting to hear?
SamGurney wrote:Interesting. I don't think I could perform it, but as I've said millions of times, if its suits you- which as it's your creation it more likley will, then it will already be better.
I think that perhaps your story could be a little solemn, but it's certainly more interesting than 'look your cards gonna change'.
Also, it would be better if it's something people could relate to, indeed, it would be great if you could bring back people from the dead, but it invites some horrible memories for some people that may not really want to be probed. If you are doing it on the topic of love, by no means is it great, but I think it's something people could relate to more: (If I was going to do this, I would force a queen. It's not neccesery for the methodology, but it would help the presentation)
They say in life, you get to choose who you fall in love with. Well.. all it is is chance. Because if you go out.. and you try and find that special person, who's just right for you, the chances are.. you can't find them. Because, ultimatley, you never know where you could find love.
VERY corny if performed badly, but the enviroment would have to be right, the presentation aswell. That was just an example.
I think though, if you make all your effects like this, it will get tiresome, patronising and quite cheesy. But I like your one, it just needs a
few tweaks.
