I'll be in Blackpool on the Thursday, though I might have to visit my local relatives first. I suspect some friends will be in the Ruskin on the Thursday so I will try hard to make it and meet some TMers.

Lawrence the last time you and Rob went to a rave in Blackpool, they had to call for an ambulance, so it's a definite no, no for me, and at my age it's not a glow stick I need it's a walking stick. so I will just settle for the Ruskin, till about 04:00 then it's bed

It's just no fun if there's no risk of personal injury!

And I even made it to the Ruskin after the incident. I fell asleep in a chair but I still made it!

Is there another way to pay for the tickets because the registration form asks for all your CC information including address, expiry date, CC number AND security code...
That just doesn't seem safe.

It is safe.
However if you feel uneasy about it you should contact Arthur Casson (contact details you'll have seen on the registration form) regarding alternative payment methods.

It mentions card payment on the form so I presume you can do it over the phone. I agree that they shouldn't be asking for the 3 digit security code to be sent through the post. I find it hard to believe that they can't do internet payments in this day and age. They are running a huge convention... it would surely make life a lot easier.

It looks like we'll be pulling a very long day on the Saturday as part of the mighty MAgic Tao, with lots of lovely Hydra goodness, and lots of Naked Mentalism - including the delightfully sinister third volume, which is finally nearing completion after 3 years of development.

Ok John and I will find you and if you have the time we can go for a pint

As Rob spends most of is time propping up the bar at Blackpool it will not be difficult to find him

Now we are getting near enough to start some planning there was one thing I found I had not given enough though to last year. That is eating places. I found one small restaurant en route to the Winter Gardens, a slightly overpriced under quality Italian, a very dodgy looking chinese and not much else. Where do people eat, in the evening, to give enough time for food and then getting back to the shows?

Good restaurants in Blackpool simple answer none

There are some that are cheap but not very cheerful

Then you have the franchise restaurants, there are two close to the Winter Gardens, they are Bella Italia, but from what you have said I think you have been in one.
We used the Bella Italia on Church St. last year, the service was very quick and the food hot and that was all we were looking for.
