Twilight! "Veggie" vampires! Gah!

Vampires have been defanged and sold as pets to pre-pubescent wannabe goth girls.

The Lost Boys would've kicked their arses.

To be honest, I blame Buffy. Now I'm a big fan (a HUGE fan) of Buffy, but this Twilight malarky can be traced directly back to Angel and his tortured vampire with a soul character. However at least Angel had something to be tortured about, having slaughtered thousands of men, women and children over the centuries. What did that Twilight vamp ever do? Well, he was a bit rude to that girl when they first met.

blame Anne Rice.

Interview with a vampire installed the idea that the undead can have a soul too..

Wouldn't you just love Wesley Snipes playing the Blade character to just casually stroll onto the Twilight scene? Then we'd see how the pretty boy vampires really are!

Thankfully, I've managed to avoid Twilight altogether.

But if you want an antidote to sweeten your palate, I heartily recommend Kathryn Bigelow's movie, Near Dark. It's quite something.

Me too! It was like a scene from Indiana Jones with a massive DVD chasing me!

Some of the worse Vampires ever (though the wolfie lads aren't too hard on the old eyes 8) )

Is my dirty old man showing?

Ooh, and I'd also like to recommend George Romero's vampire movie, Martin.

It's by far my favourite 'modern' vampire movie ever. And thoroughly uncompromising.

Those teen goth girlies wouldn't get past the opening scene!

Then you might enjoy this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZwM3GvaTRM

And Kevin Smith points out that there is an upside to twilight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaTq95CYqCw

Personally the only decent vampire I can think of is Cassidy from the highly offensive comic book Preacher.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

News just in: http://www.hecklerspray.com/stephanie-meyer-writes-new-twilight-book-because-she-hates-you/201045028.php

We don’t know about you, but we’re genuinely excited about The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner. True, that’s largely because it’s a novella and so we’ll have to exert much less energy to kick it out of people’s hands on the train than we did with Breaking Dawn, which was physically a much larger book, but it still counts.

Would highly recommend the 'Evening With Kevin Smith' DVDs that are available....

His movies may have gone of the boil recently (Cop Out, anyone??) but he'd make a damn fine Stand-Up Comic!

His stories about his experiences when trying to write the proposed Nic Cage-starring reboot of Superman in the 90s are absolutely priceless.

BTW - there was a thread on 'heckling' a while ago... I just found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA2hNn00 ... re=related

THAT's how you deal with a heckler (WARNING - Not safe for work AT ALL!)

I know the difference between tempting and choosing my fate
