Perhaps Mandrake himself may have to write the review. I am not sure anyone else on Talk Magic has purchased it. Of course being in the UK they would be more likely to have got it from International Magic than from me anyway, so I wouldn't know if they had it or not.

With reference to the two chapters cited by Mandrake I do believe they are the most powerful part of the book although painful to write. They make a marked contrast to the frivolity in the other parts of the work and this is all to the good.

I am delighted to inform you all that Steve Brooks has reluctantly agreed to review my book on the magic cafe despite the fact that I have been banned from there about thirty thousand times or so. Other people have tried to review the book there but have their threads deleted by the moderators. There really is something unsavoury about banning books or reviews of them in a free society. I do hope that Steve will not be banned from his own forum for reviewing my book.

Actually I think the moderators have eased up already because a thread is on there now concerning my literary masterpiece. In addition to all this all hell is breaking out on the Genii Forum concerning the book which I find eminently satisfactory.

Anyway here is a review by James Munton which I rather like since it at least shows some intelligence:
........................................................................................................
"I am an avid reader and this is one of my favorite books I have ever read. Please note that I did not restrict my comment to "magic books." There is a rawness and honesty to Mark's book that I have very rarely seen. I frequently found myself reading a chapter, chuckling away to myself and then without warning I would realize I was reading something quite dark and powerful. I have never read a description of live performance that comes close to the vividness of Mark's prose.

I honestly feel that this book is a masterpiece. Just like the author, it is flawed, fascinating, hilarious, infuriating and just when you think you know where it is heading, it takes an incredible turn into the deepest levels of human experience. You realize that a man who has spent his life deceiving people has just been more brutally honest than you could ever imagine.

I obviously feel the book is fantastic."

This most wondrous piece of literature is now on Kindle. I detest e-books but I have finally succumbed.

I suppose that I should put the British Amazon link rather than the American one so here you are:
