But have they got something to replace it at short notice? They always seem to put on James Bond films as a last resort!

Nah, I doubt it will get pulled

I'm not worried, 400,000 down on 3.3m on the first show isn't exactly a massive drop if you do the maths (and I think a drop on episode 2 is to be expected), and having a gander on the barb website the figures look about right

Typical unfounded tabloid rubbish, if you ask me

Also bear in mind that summer time is relatively slow news time for the tabloids ( apart for the inevitable 'Phew what a scorcher' atricles illustrated by staged photos of bikini clad women ) so they'll print almost anything to fill the pages.

That, and its The Sun.

I have really enjoyed the show so far, but some people have annoyed me. The show is called Fool Us. Why do a well known (although very difficult and well executed) card sleight, or a box transpo/metamorphasis type thing? P&T clearly will know how these effects are done.

And I loved that snooker ball effect. What's it called, anyone know?

But the best thing so far was P&Ts bin bag escape. There was something really magical about the bag floating up into the air. Just fantastic to watch.

Because of the stuff that goes on backstage. Ultimately the producers pick the effects, not the magicians.

In the original pilot Richard Bellars wasn't allowed to perform what he wanted to perform. The same thing happened with somebody else.

Backstage Penn and Teller met a couple of the magicians who the producers deemed had an effect which wouldn't fool P&T. They used them to set up sound levels etc, yet P&T were baffled by the effect. They didn't go to Vegas however.

So why do those effects? Because ultimately, the show is still run by the producers, not the magicians.

Did you manage/want to get any where with Fool Us this time, Chris?

Just wondering as you mentioned to me previously the problems you had with getting on the pilot.

Not this time. The filming would have fallen right in the middle of my exams. I wasn't able to go and support Richard because of this.

I got me a 2.1 though, so it was all worth it in the end!

Surely the only person who can decide if they think P&T would be fooled is Johnny?

The whole thing seems farcical now it has been mentioned that all is not as it seems behind the scenes.

Also with the suns article, we are talking about the sun, the paper that did a interview with P&T at the start of the series and called him Raymond.

Then the next day they say how the sun gives you cancer

I loved that trick. It's such a short and such a stupid trick (even going as far as Teller speaking with a lung full of helium), but it's just so well choreographed. The way Teller is just standing there, looking at the camera, as Penn finishes explaining why they do such a silly and stupid trick. As if it's the most normal thing in the world to happen

Just brilliant

I saw this for the first time about 3 weeks ago in Vegas and the full stage routine has a few more gags in there that had me doubling over with laughter. Works on stage too.

I liked his whole hands-in-the-pockets-while-looking-at-the-picture-dead-casual-thing he had going on there. Teller rules. By the look of the trailer, he's performing The Miser's Dream this week. For my money, he's one of the best at that little doozy.

Brilliant. That's my second favourite trick

I wondered, how does the 'camera' bit work on stage?
