The Rapture

Well, rather disappointingly, the Rapture never happened.

Was it scheduled to happen on a particular day? I always thought it was going to happen 'soon'.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Well, the day isn't over yet, Paul. Have faith!

Besides - it's not like this is actually the end of the world. The Rapture is just when the chosen people are taken away from the coming ...

According to Harding, the Rapture will happen at 6PM, or 11PM UK time. It could still happen!

;)

I must say I'm a bit pi**ed about this, I'm often in Camden and speakers corner and I always spend some time with the 'colourful' religious types when I see them, if they ever come knocking at my door I always let them in. I thought at least one of them would warn me. Instead I hear about it from a heathen Satan worshipper.

I hope it does happen. I'm looking forward to waving merrily at the "chosen" as they float up towards the pearly gates. "Ooh, look, you can see our house from up here!"

The rapture deadline has already passed in New Zealand without any consequences. So, unless God is foolishly ignoring internationally recognised timezones, we are all safe. And some mad religious american loons are now looking rather stupid. Again.

However the Flying Spaghetti Monster says that the world ends two weeks on Friday...

Santa says that my presents will arrive from the North Pole on the 25th December. And do you know what, I kind of believe him. He's never let me down so far. Well, apart from 1997. But we don't talk about that.

I've decided to delay paying my credit card bill until Monday - just in case. If the prophesy is true then don't bother recording any TV programmes, watch 'em live  !

Harold Camping was interviewed on TV and asked what happens if he's proved to be wrong. His answer was that he can't be wrong, it will happen. So, no 'out' there for him... perhaps he'll top himself thus proving the prophesy was right for him and him alone?

The spirits tell me that the World will end on a day that ends in a 'Y' and the sign will be a man wearing a hat saying something.

Except that he's already been wrong once... Oh wait, his calculations were wrong then, and today, it will definitely happen!

Well, if it does happen and we're all wiped out, can we get together in the afterlife and try to contact the living? Oh, wait, there won't be any.. bum... start practicing the heavenly card tricks folks....., 'OK for my next trick I need to borrow a halo and harp... anyone?'
