Sure, takes money and lots of planning. I think maybe the point is a particular person can have this happen to them by 'them', the state, secret service or the like. It reminds me of something like an Alfred Hitchcock plot. I guess it isn't totally far fetched to wonder if anything similar has actually happened in the past, who knows, but it definitely seems very possible!

This was an awesome show. Gripping from the beginning. Fantastic.

Am I the only person on this forum who has been enjoying his shows?

If Derren had a show where he changed a baby's nappy for an hour you'd think it's brilliant.

Very impressed by this show,it looks genuine to me! the actors were a bit pants and the names obvious but other than that it was spot on.

I can't believe you went for McCartney instead of the more concrete John & Yoko analogy.

That said, if Derren ever tells us to imagine no possessions, the more susceptible viewers may go to live in tents in the woods...

I have only just watched this and hated it. Not my kind of thing at all.

If nothing else these programmes have got us all talking, arguing and offering widely differing but honestly held opinions. That may not have ben the intention but it makes a very welcome change from threads agbout David Blaine, The Masked Magician and other sleep inducing topics!

Thats a far more accurate analogy, Stacey!
These shows are like Lennon solo albums, a flash of the old brilliance and then tedious stuff that grates and ruins the whole thing. It appears to me that although Derren is a great performer, he owed much of his early success to Andy Nyman (and others he worked with).

For his devoted clones he could stand still for an hour and it'd be brilliant, for those with out critical faculties retained the huge dip in quality is glaringly apparent. It saddens me.

In My view (and i hate to say this!) he has become Blaine. In other words his TV shows started off with great effects and were fun to watch. Now he seems to want to see how big and shocking his shows can be. I really liked Derren at the start (and still enjoy his stage work) but the quality of the TV is dipping fast.

Since you've been consistently bitching about the same thing over and over again (It's boring, it's faked, fanboys will watch anything unlike me, because I have my 'critical faculties retained'.) I have to ask you one very obvious question.

Why are you still watching this show?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

No.

I am particularly enjoying my wife's reactions.

The first one: "Do you think someone can be hypnotised in to killing someone?"

The second one: "Serves them right for being so mean. I'm glad he tricked them, just shows how nasty people can be."

The third one: "That's really nasty. That poor guy. He's a complete wreck."

The reason I find these particularly interesting is because it is presenting questions that would normally be presented as a 1-2 hour documentary with counter arguments and debates, with occasional reference to studies and/or experiments. This actually enables you to see the experiment in action!

The only one I found a bit boring was the second one, largely because in my hate filled lust the bad things were not severe enough or regular enough to sate my blood rage! :D

I do not really see these as being a part of Mr Brown's previous works, more a different project.

Comparing this to his previous work is like comparing Stephen Mulhern presenting X Factor Xtra (or whatever it's called) and his magic career!

Because I'm hoping it's just a blip and his shows regain the same unique originality and excitement they once had.
I watch each one with anticipation, hoping the previous was an "off night".

And by the way, having an opinion that is other than glowing praise is not "bitching", my opinion that Derren has lost his televisual mojo is just as valid as your one that believes the sun shines out of his nether regions.

You seem to misunderstand many things. I am a fan of his and I'm just saddened to see a once great performer become self-indulgent, patronising, unentertaing and irrelevant. I expect better from someone of his calibre.

Oh and A.N.T., it's " Britain's Got More Talent" not Xtra Factor.
