I have an Ultimate Three Card Monte, by Michael Skinner, bought from magicwarehouse. Brilliantly taught and you don't need a video for visual feed. There is absolutely no sleights involved and just by following the instruction carefully you'll be "learning it in one evening". I performed it to a couple of people and the results are simply amazing -- makes me want to practice more of the patter though. Basically if you can hold and fan three cards properly you can do this trick! If you're unsure of the routine just watch the demo and you'll get the knack of it.

I've also placed an order for Monte 3.0., as I wanted to have a stand-up version of three card monte effect. It should be here by the end of this week, I hope.

Anyway, has anybody who has the Ultimate Three Card Monte had an experience where the spectator themselves flipped the cards? That haven't happened to me yet, but just to makes sure I make it a rule to put down my fingers on each cards. I'm working on the attitude and the patter so that the spectators don't go crazy during the routine.

Color Monte

I personally like Color Monte :D.

It's really easy to do (learned it in less than an hour), and (IMHO) is much clearer to the spectators.

It's also, of course, clean - there are no gimmick whatsoever involved, and all three cards are fully examinable at the end.

Just my 2p...

I've recently started to practise a slight twist on the three-card-monte. I can't recall which book I saw it in, but it involves a Mexican turnover. That way, even if your spec DOES guess right, they will ALWAYS be wrong. It also makes the 'mixing' of the cards on the table a bit cleaner - the spec has no reason to believe there is sleight of hand as the cards are mixed.

I've not tried it on a spec yet though.

I get you Zack! That's an excellent idea...now I just have to do a Mexican Turnover that looks somewhat like the real thing...I did it on my brother, and he just said, "yes.........you switched the cards :?" :(...

Oh well
