Mark Wilson's Cyclopeida Of Magic - A Complete Course

Postby Magus » Aug 9th, '12, 13:45

Does anybody know if this is the same book as Mark Wilson's Complete Course In Magic. I bought a copy from Amazon thinking that I am buying the complete course book and it is a little (albeit very thick) handbook with the title above. I'm not too bothered about the size of the book as I will be travelling with it anyway but just wanted to make sure I had bought the right one.

Thanks in advance,

Shaun.

I think that they're slightly different, I've not got the Cyclopeida Of Magic but from what I know it's a bit of a cut down version of the Complete Course.

Some previous threads on this absolute must have for anyone in magic:

Basically, the Cyclopedia is a smaller sized version of the Encyclopaedia – both are excellent and even if you buy both of them they’ll be superb investments. Check the remainder shops and cut price bookshops as the Cyclopedia sometimes finds it’s way to being on sale there at a very reasonable price.

Thanks for the replies, I got the book from a used listing on Amazon for less than £3 including postage but it was listed as The Complete Course. It still looks a solid little book from flicking through it though. I'll most likely buy the bigger one for home use and keep the small one for work.

Thanks for the links Mandrake.

Thanks for the links Mandrake.

History almost repeats itself! I bought Cyclopedia for £3 from Peter's Bookshop in Newquay,Cornwall, yonks ago without realising that it was such a famous book and I subsequently bought Encyclopaedia with some book tokens I had for Christmas a few years ago - if your relatives are stuck for suitable prezzies, I suggest you leave copious hints and notes mentioning this book, the links of where to buy them and short but sincere assurances of how grateful you'll be if Santa manages to deliver one for you... Both are excellent reference works but also contain enough for several careers in magic, I'm old fashioned (and ancient!) enough to prefer books to DVDs so are excellent sources of routines, tricks and inspiration. These books are worth several times more than the list price so well done on getting a great bargain!
