Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

The effect I was talking about on the previous page is called Hocus-Pocus Card and its in Expert Card Technique (chapter 14 - Self-Working Tricks). I use a different selection procedure though as I don't like to put the deck behind my back.
Great effect and always gets good reactions.

Jim

PS - the effect is published somewhere else as well, as I read this and was using it before I bought ECT.

I believe there was a principle on Scam school in prepping a deck of cards yet making it completely sealed as if it were new.
A comedy opener could be by prepping the deck in this way and hiding a £5 note inside with a message written apparently from the USPCC.

Pull the deck out and state that the USPCC give money with their cards, and then open it to everyone's amusement with a message apparently given by them, saying to enjoy the show (just my on the spot idea) :)

I thought up a great effect using a Sealed ID. Ask someone to think of a Card, "Are they Sure they want that Card?...Reason i ask is i have a sealed Unopened Deck in my Pocket".
You hand them the deck to see wether the Deck has been tampered with. You then Remove all the Packaging and USPCC sticker and Perform a easy ID Routine. Simple, Direct and Hits Hard :)
