There's not much else to say, except I have a new website: www.DirectMagic.co.uk

All thoughts, suggestions, etc. warmly appreciated. :)

As in you'd like videos? I'm actually in the process of filming and editing a "show reel" of clips which I will hopefully upload onto the site. It will be real performances, some in the street "Hit and Run" style and also in a more intimate environment of a private dinner party. Hopefully, it will give any visitors to the site a real feel of what my magic is all about. But we'll see

I REALLY REALLY don't want to be picky, but...

I think the 'About us' section looks a bit intimidating and is real hard to get through. It's such a huge chunk of text - maybe it'd be worth splitting it into paragraphs (with gaps between) so the page doesn't look too full on and heavy?

Aslo, there's references to the 'people' behind directmagic, i.e. it appears that a team is running it, which is cool because it gives the reader a sense that you're a succesful, professional business; BUT there are also sections referring to yourself as 'I' - which gives you away.

On the 'Services' page - 'favourite' is spelt incorrectly, without the 'u'

Finally on the picky side of things - I used to work with a guy who worked in marketing and advertising, and he would tell me that each page should use the same fonts. Through consistency you can create a real professional touch. "Use one style and stick to it" - he told me. It was really noticeable where bold was used on one page then the text reverted back to normal on the next.

I love the layout, the style, the picture on the front page is so very funky and modern - all the Q&As are there, you detail the shows well, explain that it's likely to be a custom show that the customer will need.

Honestly, I love it - I hope the above doesn't appear to be too negative. The site is great, and I, for one, am extremely jealous that you are out there and doing it. FOR REAL.

I'll grow the balls to do it myself, one day...

Thanks, and thanks for an honest opinion :) . I'd rather people picked up on things sooner rather than later. I see what you mean about "pick a style and stick to it". I did try and do that but I'm only an amatuer at web design and this is the result :P . Thanks for the spelling mistake, I hadn't realised.

Also, you're right, there's no I in team (but there is a me) !!

I didn't want to resort to the tackyness of talking about myself in the third person but I also wanted Direct Magic to seem like a mini-company. It's a tangled web but thanks for the heads up, I'll try and ammend it.

Thanks again and don't worry, no offense taken :)

All the best,

Hi Will

I thought that the layout was extremely good and it read much better than many other professional sites that I have viewed. I picked up on many of the points that Zack identified and particularly the differences in font, paragraph sizes and the use of 'I and us'. I would also advise against using bold text unless it's absolutely necessary.

The good news is that these are easily fixed!

I thought after reading much of the text there was depth and personal warmth coming through, showing that you cared about your magic and the performance.

Also agree with Rune that some video's will only add to the feel of the site once they are ready

This is exactly what I'd like to have said, but wasn't sure how to put it! I think the content is superb - good on you mate.

I can read the words but this guy is really random. This person has done this in several threads! So he/she should really stop!

By the way, that is Chinese for the people who can't read it. To be honest, I can't read it either :-(.

More on topic... It's a really good site but needs more filler.

The best part of the site is: "Where do babies come from?"

Personally the site is plain white and grey, needs to be a bit more creative and maybe get somone as myself to make you a personall one not a free one.

There's an old analogy know as K.I.S.S. which means..........

Keep It Simple - Stupid

Personally I think that it works very well as it is, and it doesn't need over complicating. The site gets the message across very well about what the site is trying to provide, advertise etc. As the name suggests, the title is DIRECT through it's simplicity!

Haven't you all heard - less is supposed to be the new more :?

Very minimalistic
