Flustration Count...

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Now your name has appeared Mog, something has triggered in my Long term Memory and I think it was you who pointed it out way back when, and quite rightly so.

If you wanna show all backs the same colour you just use the flushtration count with the cards facing the opposite direction to the way they were. It's the same technique and is much more likely to pass by your speccies this way as it's more of a subteltly than a sleight.

You can use a Flustration to show all jokers at the start of NFW

I dont know where you got this quote but I find it an interesting one as I can't see how it would work given the set-up of NFW (the gimmicked version I presume). If Seige would be willing to share this idea with us I'll be very receptive and grateful.

But for now take a look at my NFW video: (NFW Video) and see my count at the start. I was taught this technique by friend of mine who does professional close-up magic (Craig, who is credited in the video) but it didn't work as good as I'd hoped with the original set-up, so I changed it to make it work the way it does in the video. If you wanna know any more about it then PM me. I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for that, but I've tried looking at your vids before and for some reason my Mac can't get beyond the first few frames. The vid just freezes while the soundtrack continues.

REALLY flushtrating that is!

flustration works best if you perform it to show that all the cards in a packet are the same after you have shown it using some other method. for example, in jumping gemini after showing all the to be 10S by diminishing count, you can use the fustration count as a confirmation that all the cards are actually the same. the audience then expects to see them to be the same. it is easier to fool them that way.

what do you guys think?

Ha ha, a fellow Mac user! Nice one!

IMO the Flushtration count is a great move and I also find that it is best not to draw attention to it, I do it and just sort of let people notice it themselves, and then if they do suspect something they can assume that I am just using it as a casual action as I am not making an out and out statement such as "All of these cards are completely the same" or whatever, which doesn't solve much but stops a confrontation.

I do it as I show the faces, giving the cards a slight flick upwards so that they can casually notice the backs; the emphasis is then on showing the front of the cards as opposed to the backs, which I guess is what magic_evmeister might have been reffering to. It works!
