The only book I have which has it spelled out (two versions, one with preparation and one impromptue) is Luke Jermay's Seven Deceptions.

I guess there are different versions from the one I know then because I can't think of anything dangerous about the way I do it.
Hmmm...research time.

There is only one way to do it. I have never seen any other way to do it, and every person I have seen do it uses the same technique. (If you know how its done, you can tell when it is being done. Can be seen a mile away ;) ) although, this does not include the handling for stopping someone elses pulse. That is alot scarier, and more importantly, safer.

Pulse Stopping

Postby Allen Tipton » Aug 31st, '05, 18:22

You do need the right personality to present this. NOT for the average magician. There a small chapter on it in the Berglas book and David B could do it without any gimmicks causing one to stop as the other started!! But this is a Grand Master not The Great Bungo from Wherever.
The MOST COMPLETE description and routining of this unusual feat is to be found in Luke Jermay's book 7 Deceptions, published in 2002. It is still available at Magic Books By Post, £28. There are 53 pages, and the Pulse Stopping chapter, 'For Andruzzi' covers 11 pages. It is indeed most thorough

Was that the routine when David got a couple of nurses on stage to check the pulses?

Hehe, I remember this one. They were swinging their arms in time with his pulse... One of them said "You should be dead!".. Haha.
