If you're worried about coin size and are living abroad, why not send an email to someone like Magictricks etc. and ask them if they'll include a few low value foreign (UK) coins to get you going?

It's not really that difficult to improvise with this trick!

Nice review. And I honestly must say that after watching the demo in pure amazement over and over again, I cannot figure this one out! I also must say that I will be buying this as soon as I get some money...Because right now I'm broke as a joke
Thanks,
Dominick

We don't encourage the free downloading and / or sharing of secrets that belong to someone else. This blatent infringement of copyright on a large scale will discourage magicians from releasing tricks in the future which ultimately hits the real magicians.

coin in can

May I echo my colleagues sentiments! This is appalling that this trick can be downloaded for free. This is a powerful effect that will simply get ruined by free downloads. It has taken some time to develop and the ingenuity should be rewarded.

I believe teh taiwan currency has a silver coin so it should be no problem for u buddy. and btw u dont need a silver coin, it can even be black, it is just safer to use a silver coin... sizes of cans differ, i know this as i live in Singapore, trust me u will have no problem finding the right match

Just a thought but wouldn't be difficult to have a black coin signed. I don't think this would be a very good effect if the coin wasnt signed either. If you can get a coin that is about 1.5cm in diameter (best I've found is a British 20p piece) you shouldn't have a problem with any cans. However, I haven't tried this with any soft drinks, my only practice so far has been cans of Strongbow.

Coin in can

Postby DrTodd » Mar 12th, '06, 20:20

I have been using Diet Coke cans and 10p coins and/or quarters. While the 20p is good, the size of the 10p is more deceptive in my view. Once the coke is emptied out, the spectators really struggle to get the signed coin out.

I've tried a 10p piece with a Strongbow can an it was too big. So I settled for a 20p.

Is this trick one you could perform more than once to the same audience?

It's not recommended to perform any trick to the same audience a second time.

Usuall they will watch carefully the first time and if you;re good and well practiced then you're generally safe. However, if you perform a second time their eyes will be burning you.

I don't see why you would want to repeat this trick. If you've bothered to buy the DVD then surely you've got some other magic stuff to show people. You should only repeat stuff when you've run out of stuff to show - WHICH SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

coin in can

This is one trick never to repeat! It is so powerful that it literally leaves their jaws dropping and there is simply no need to repeat it! The presentation is nice and slow, deliberate, and 'fair', and then it just cranks up the magic to such a finale that repeating it would kill it.

I received this last night, now bear in mind that I have never performed a magic trick in my life, I learnt this trick in about 2 hours. I'm still perfecting it but last night I performed it infront of 4 family members and they were all amazed!

If you are thinking of buying this but are unsure, just buy it! I can't stress how good this trick is and coming from a complete newbie, dont be afraid if you've never done magic before! 8)
