Why is blocking JS any safer? JS isn't going to do any harm to your computer...

Have you tried clearing your cache and/or cookies? That often helps with this sort of problem...

Exactly...I think these are leftovers from that "cookies + JS" hoax...

I did all that, and still nowt happened. Its only when I enabled 3rd party cookies for this site that it let me stay logged in, its never been that way before though, always had 3rd party turned off and been ok.

Maybe it's an update to Windows or PHPBB?

You can pretty much do many things with java scripts but may bad; this plugin isn't blucking only Java; it's blocking all the scripts in the pages.. With this tool you can see the scripts on the page, and have choices "allow-ban-allow for temporary" options.
Why people have "something" downloaded when just surfing the sites? Or some sites will log your ips to to other 3rd party companies for keeping tracks. So you can track all the scripts on the pages.
This just sounded me like an ad of the extension but please see it for yourself, it's now 2nd popular extention of firefox.

I spoke wayyyyyyyyy too damn soon.

Bloody thing wouldnt let me login, looping on the login screen, close down the page relog in from main page come to this thread, click post reply and I'm told to login again. Perpetual loop of login screens and a ton of frustration later I'm back, but I tell you this. If this continues to happen my tenancy here at TM will be terminated very very soon.

I DO NOT have this problem with anyother site or forum that I use so it is do with this site and as much as I love it if it continues I will stop coming back.

TWENTY yes TWENTY times I have had to log in today DESPITE staying logged in allegedly.

Sorry to hear this but I think it must be a problem local to you as nobody else reports having the same difficulties to the extent that you do. I can usually log in from different machines in different locations in Europe/USA with no difficulty at all. I know that doesn’t help you much but I would have thought if it were a Forum problem I'd have had problems in at least one location by now  .

This may be completely unrelated (as I can log in fine) but I just don't seem to be recieving any notification emails any more.
I should have had at least twenty from topic replys and over ten PM notifications in the last fortnight but all I have had is one topic reply notification and that was nearly a week late !
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem ?

THIS IS NOT MY MACHINE

I have just gone through a nightmarish fivemins just trying to reply to this.

I post reply, told to log in so perpetual loop starts again. Close down internet full stop. Do a virus scan and spyware sweep. Nothing. Reconnect. Login on main screen, enter details, taken back to frontpage - I'm not logged in. Do it again, not logged in. Come to this thread, click post reply and try to login, perpetual loop.

I have no problems with any other site where I can stay logged in. Spyware blaster and zone alarm are set to allow everything from this site as they are for all the other sites I have no problems with.

I am very close to putting my fist thru the screen

I've PM'd the Forum Owner in case he can identify any problems which are causing you grief.

How can I be editing my profile, click submit and then get told to login again? If thats local issue then I'm buggered if I know what.

Thanks Mandrake.

EDIT: I dont even have to close IE to lose my login. All I have to do is go to another site then retype the url for TM and I have to bloody login again. We are now at over 30 logins today.
