Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I screw this trick up about 50% of the time during the first phase.

Seriously thinking about dumping this effect for the Abyss coin in bottle.

Dear me - it sounds as if you need more practice and to re-watch the DVD and improve your technique.

It's a killer routine and in my opinion much better than a coin in bottle. What if you can't get the technique for the CiB trick? will you give up on that one too?

Some things you will pick up faster thanothers. What you need is to persevere.

If you're having some trouble with it technique wise then PM me and I'll see if I can give you a few pointers.

You will find that Abyss is also a bit "fiddly," so you may not be very happy with it.

i have both of these effects and i like sinful 10 times better than abyss...i have had abyss for a while now and havent even really bothered to practice it, let alone perform it...sinful on the other hand i got it and practiced it until my hand was bruised and then practiced more...i perform it all the time now...

so you might be dissapointed with abyss...maybe 'passing thru' ???...i dont own this but it looks good i think

just something to think about :D

i definetly agree that abyss is fiddly but i dont think that sinful is fiddly one bit...

...if you are screwing the initial part up 50% of the time then you really need to practice A LOT more... you should enjoy practicing!!!...i practiced a lot and i enjoyed it...trust me it will pay off...eventually you can do it in your sleep...i find it extremely easy to perform and i mess up 0% of the time :D ...

just practice more man..dont give up!

good luck :D

Having asked questions about this effect on Ellusionist, i decided not to buy it because apparently you cant really do it with British coins.

Can you get a better review than this?

Erm... England man over here. Never had a problem with it at all.

Lots of coins work for the effect. 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, never tried anything bigger than that although I can't see any problems with say a £1 coin.

If that's why you're not buying it, then I say spend the money for a killer piece of impromptu magic :D

And you have my assurance that it will work with English coins

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

My apologies...I have misunderstood. I thought trickyricky's comments were based on the Abyss coin in bottle. There are some coin issues with the coin in can but if you have an IQ above 12 you can work around it.

Hmmm... perhaps I have misunderstood :?

Looking back it seems entirely possible that trickyrickys comments were about Abyss!

Sorry everyone

Perhaps Sir Tricky can make an appearance and clarify what he meant for us...

Dunno about Abyss but I got Passin Thru a few days ago and it's pretty straightforward. I've only performed it a couple of times (to my little sister and girlfriend - my magic beta testers) and they both gasped when the coin popped into the bottle and rattled around. I'd say for me it's slightly easier than Sinful if anything, and nearly as impromtu.

Note: The Magic Evmeister supports responsible drinking, unless you're on the p**s with me.

This made me laugh, i could just imagine you making a coin disappear, realise that you dont want to waste the beer, run over the the punch bowl like a crazy man, neck it as fast as possible whilst trying to keep the can in full view, and then pouring the beer into the bowl before passing out or throwing up into the bowl as well!
