How do all?

Magician pushes Hank into hand and it turns into an egg (easy to work out), removes hank from egg to "teach" the trick, pushed hank into fist again it's an egg. Magician then peels of hole and cracks egg to show that it's real.

I've seen this effect a few times now and really like it. Does anyone know where it's available from?

Pete Firman and/or Ali Cooke did the exact Ammar routine in their Secrets/History/Whatever of Magic series currenty being repeated on one of the Sky channels.

I watched this episode also, and found the routine to be very entertaining, at the begining of the trick I was thinking come on lads thats childs play, youve just got an egg version of a TT!!! then they turned it around and chucked in a bit of a whammy, ending up to be a very good performance to which many of the crowd stood up whilst cheering!

I think the performance worked very well using this provardo of "let me teach you a simple trick"

yes I have seen it on both of those shows Ali cook and Pete did it together, but Ali did most of it. I don't think that it's in MW's CCIM. I can work it out nearly but just need the rest BUT I actually don't agree with performing a trick such as this without paying for it.

Can this be done close-up in the proper sense of the word - ie close up or do the specs have to be 2-4 feet away?

It can be done pretty close. I have an egg thats looks exactly like a real egg. I beleive its called an Eggsactly Egg. Really Good

To a certain extent the specs need to be close enough to see the 'sucker reveal' in the first part of the routine and, as for the rest, it depends on how close you can work with a TT !

I dont use a TT I use the Karrel Fox method the 2nd time and roll the silk into finger palm position.

Last question, does anyone know where I can buy the "Vernet Silk to Egg" in the UK? I am going to buy the Ammar book 9it's on my 2list") but I can't afford it at the moment.

Dont get the Vernet silk to egg. It really doesn't look like an egg, its weird shaped. It wont hold up when doing it close up. Go with the Eggsactly Egg and rely on sleight of hand to do the rest.

This is one of my favorite sucker gags.

I think Mark Wilson was the first person I ever saw doing but I'm not positive, it could've been Peter Pit... I was rather young and it was Tv in the very early 70s.

I know you can get it through Tannens or Stevens magic here in the states... just tell them you want the old comedy Silk to Egg... shouldn't be much more than about $20.00, if that.

cheers it seems the vernet one is plastic all the way through but there are versions out there where you switch for a real egg - I'm looking for the latter.
