Randy, I didn't read your post so I don't know exactly what you said... However I do know that the mods and folks on this forum are very hot on exposure of secrets. If they think you gave something away (whether you meant to or not) it would be edited.

Also this is a thread that has had ALOT of similar posts asking for the secret and people bragging about the fact they've worked it out, so when the ever vigilant and over worked mods suspect someone of doing the same thing, they are going to edit it.

The only thing I'll say is along the lines of what I said to someone last night, this is by all accounts a great effect so why not do it's creator justice by buying it?

If you don't, then don't post a review of a product you don't own.
:D

edit} Would it be possible to lock this thread guys? Recent "constructive" posts have all been more support requests than reviews and with it now running into 16 pages there is surely enough of a review to allow people to decide whether it's worth buying or not...

well said Flash! the number of people who claim to have uncovered secrets of this and other routines is defeating the purpose of the review section.

(1) buy a product if you like it.
(2) do you home work, try it out and learn it well.
(3) if so inclined, write a review based on yr opinions and thoughts.
(4) be satisfied you have made a worth while contribution.

and from all of us who benefit from a good review... thank you!!!

the review section is filling up with posts saying "i dont need to buy this because i am so smart i worked it out". good for you, however to write a meaningful review of a product you really need to own it first... dont you think? otherwise what exactly are you reviewing??? the teaching method? no. the precise handling? of course not, how could you? the reactions you get when you execute the effect precisely as described on the DVD? impossible for you to do that unless you own the DVD.

Please note this post is a general comment and NOT directed at anyone or any post specifically.

alright.... i have to admit that i didnt read the rules at first... and i would like to formally apologize for breaking them.... i am new

so now that i know that we are discussing the 'effect' of the trick, not the technique, i will have more appropriate posts.

i can argue logic vs. illusion, but i know that i wont win. and I respect this. for the simple fact that (obviously) magicians under any circumstances, do not tell the secret of their tricks... otherwise, magicians wouldnt exist. i just want to make it clear that i understand this.... and again, I apologize. I didnt know that their were a lot of dedicated magicians here...

on that note, does this rule apply for slight techniques? because i am working on one (similar to the invisible palm) and i would really like to discuss it.

again.. sorry for all of the hubbub...

your ignorant magician in training,
Jeff (aka RandyLahey)

I can't take it anymore, I HAVE to buy this trick! I am pretty good with sleight of hand, atleast I have been working on my skills for the last couple months. I recently moved up from being one of those people that bought cheap magic tricks that would end up in the sock drawer. I have been looking for an effect that I could do anywhere, anytime with almost no props, and this looks like what I have been looking for. Granted, after watching making videos, I think I have guessed the secret, but I am willing to pay the price of the trick and buy it to give credit where it is due.

Even if you figured it out, I imagine the DVD will give you some great handling tips :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

I saw the demo on Ellusionist and just had to buy it. I must admit that I was amazed at how clean and simple this trick is to perform. Borrow a coin, borrow a can and away you go. It leaves your audience absolutely gobsmacked.

I think that the only potential problem is that after you have borrowed the items, the original owner of the can may be less than delighted at having it poured all over the floor.

Brilliant!

I'm going to get this trick, I have figured A way of doing this but I don't think it is THE way. Can't get it to look half as smooth and there is one aspect that I can't get. So that DVD is on my shopping list

1 word Ebay !!!

1 word...NO! You can't trust many of the people on eBay...Most sell illeagally copied DVDs and sometimes rip-offs of what you actually want. So let me repeat the one word...NO!!

Thanks,
Dominick

eBay's usually ok as long as you're careful. Check their feedback, only pay using paypal. If you get a dodgy copy, report them, it's illegal and ebay will take action. As long as you've used paypal, you'll get your money back too.

I bought masterminds vol 2 from ebay and have a feeling its a fake copy because the other side of the disc is different to vol 1 and the cover looks darker and different material to vol 1 and basically looks like it could have been knocked up on a computer (or maybe I'm just being paranoid) and it wouldn't play in my old computer (but in the new one its fine) saying that all of my magic dvds play in black and white on my tv dvd player but think that might be because my tv is a bit old.
