Living in England. Magic shops.

Postby Allen Tipton » Jul 1st, '05, 15:20

:) Our biggest advantage is the sheer freedom. But as for Magic Shops, many of them seem to sell the same effects. The odd ones, like Mark Leveridge are exceptions. Mark tends to sell mainly his own conceptions and everything he does sell he's tested out in public.
For what it's worth I DROOL over the adverts in Stan Allen's Magic mag, The Linking Ring the Genii etc. and wish, oh why aren't i living in the USA where I could simply send off for these awesome effects! It's a case of the old saying, 'The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'
Look to home .

Our biggest advantage is the sheer freedom. - Not sure what that means, but ok.

I checked out the Mark Leveridge site - and now I'm hating exchange rates and international shipping costs even more!

Thanks, Allen Tipton - thanks for making it worse!

Going to NY - Definitely check out Tannen's - 45 West 34th street in Manhattan. It's one of the most well-known shops in New York.

Ahh yes I went to tannens after this magician I bumped into in this shop recomended it to me. I actually didnt think it was great. I bought a ITR but that was about it. It was very empty.

Lol found my love in this little costume shop which not only had amazing masks and theatrical outfits but also it had a little magic shop at the back where I got a load of new stuff as its all so much cheaper in america. Lovely place - the name has escaped me for the moment but when I remember it I shall mention it.

... which is why most comedians on the CBC are Newfoundlanders, along with awfully adept news comentator, Rex Murphey.

Most people do not have great knowledge of geography, even in Canada, but I'll still jokingly agree with you on your latter comment.
