People will not post details of effects on an open forum. You can get help and tips but not details on how to perform tricks

Yes, RRTCM is the place to go for overhand shuffles.

What exactly is the problem? If it's just that the shuffles look generally sloppy you just need to practice. The only way to have a nice neat riffle shuffle is to do a lot.

The Royal Road book is very inexpensive and will suit your purposes perfectly. You will not be dissapointed, if you take the time to read it properly.

Of course if you have the money flying about then of course the R. Paul wilson dvd set will be advantageous. But certainly a luxury.

Of course if you can afford it get both 8)

To go back on FlipBack's suggestion, The System is advanced XCM. So I doubt if they really have any shuffles you could do at this point. Or any shuffles at all. They're all cuts I believe.

Thanks,

By shuffles I'm just going to assume that he means a basic riffle shuffle.

And by the way, I had your same question a month or so ago. How to get my magic to look more professional. The solution I arrived at was to make everything cleaner. No stray cards, everything should be square as much as possible. I'm no professional, so someone else might want to help you on that. Anyways, the thing I was most unimpressed with was my standard riffle shuffle.

I kid you not, I would sit down for 30 minutes at times and just shuffle over and over. It's something you just get the feel for after a while. And I've found the riffle shuffle from the corners to look more professional than the one you bridge afterwards (just from my experience).

I thought my shuffles would never look professional, but now they're pretty decent. Nothing to scream about, but I'm happy. There's no real advice that you can be given. If you post a video with your shuffle, perhaps we can point out things here and there, but other than that, all anyone can really say is to just practice.

Actually, that is some good advice. The Doevetail shuffle is my preferred riffle shuffle merely for elegance...but as said above, if it is the actual technique to begin with you are unsure of, then RRTCM should (will) answer all of your questions. I have no experience with the DVD set but it was reviewed here...I guess it all depends on whether or not you learn better visually or from a book.
