By shuffles I'm just going to assume that he means a basic riffle shuffle.
And by the way, I had your same question a month or so ago. How to get my magic to look more professional. The solution I arrived at was to make everything cleaner. No stray cards, everything should be square as much as possible. I'm no professional, so someone else might want to help you on that. Anyways, the thing I was most unimpressed with was my standard riffle shuffle.
I kid you not, I would sit down for 30 minutes at times and just shuffle over and over. It's something you just get the feel for after a while. And I've found the riffle shuffle from the corners to look more professional than the one you bridge afterwards (just from my experience).
I thought my shuffles would never look professional, but now they're pretty decent. Nothing to scream about, but I'm happy. There's no real advice that you can be given. If you post a video with your shuffle, perhaps we can point out things here and there, but other than that, all anyone can really say is to just practice.
