Yes. It is indeed a great product, and after doing it several times, you can get the handling and the performance required to get this working smoothly.

I tend to perform this for friends, or while seated and when someone asks to see a trick. Mainly because it feels impromptu, and it does have good reactions.

If I note people are not wearing watches, I will always ask "is anyone wearing a watch" before performing, attempting to stop the question of examining the watch.

I always add my own little patter to try and make it look like that I am "forcing" them to pick a certain time, although I stress that they have a completely free choice of time.

For anyone that's interested, the patter would be something along the lines of:
"I want you to picture a watch or a clock that you are very familiar of. Maybe it's a clock sitting on your mantle piece or hanging on your wall, but I want you to be able to visualise the clock very clearly. Next, I want you to picture the clock/watch with no hands, visualise the bare face showing no time. Okay, next I want you to picture that same clock showing the time ten to eight. Picture the clock in your mind and imagine seeing the hands of the clock pointing to ten to eight. Form a very distinct image in your mind."
Then I'd get them to picture the clock blank again and then I'd repeat the above twice more so that, in total, you've asked them to visualise 3 separate times in their mind. Then I'd ask them to clear their mind and now visualise their clock and this time they pick their own time and form an image in their mind, but they don't reveal to you what it is.
You then go through the process and reveal their selected time using the Time Machine.
I usually explain that the 3 times I asked them to visualise were not random times but were in a sequence (albeit a complicated one !!) and even though they thought they had a 100% free choice of time, I always knew what time they were going to choose 8)

Since I started performing this trick in this way, no-one has never asked to examine the watch. Everyone always tends to think that it's some kinda weird mentalist trick

Nice. Very cool.
I have once or twice presented it as more of a mentalism feat, but I feel more comfortable with my current presentation.

Another good idea, if you feel you can get away with this, is to let them hold the watch during the entire trick. I've seen some people's routines like this, but it depends if you want to risk it, and if you feel you can pull it off.

Another thing I do, is always ask for the hour first. I build up the question before asking it. Then, once I know the hour, I do the same for the minute. If you have this trick, I think you can realise that doing this actually saves time for the effect, as you have half the information you need as you stretch out the second half. The build up to the first question disguises the build up to the second, and also, both actually help to verify the free choice.

The absolute great thing about this watch, is that it is my main watch. I wear it everyday, and I always know I have something on me other than cards which I can do. It would never be my first trick, but maybe after a card trick or two, if I'm still being asked to do magic, I would then ask for a watch, as described earlier.

But hey, a great purchase, I'm sure it will become your everyday watch too, byron!

I kinda like the bit about asking for the hour first, then the minute.
I bet before you used this way, you've prolly been in that awkward situation (like me lol  ),where you've gotta waffle on for what seems like an eternity, 'cos the spectator chooses a "far-off" time.
I may incorporate this way, in with my method

I don't think I'd be brave enough to let the spectator hold the watch but each to their own I suppose

I wear my watch every weekend so I'm ready to perform just in case I need that lil' something extra. (I daren't wear mine during the week 'cos I'm a window cleaner and I don't wanna risk damaging it  )

I just got one of these - It is fantastic. I have had a couple of practises on myself then felt I should try it out - BIG MISTAKE!! Thankfully I didn't tip it but I did feel sweaty after pattering for what seemed like hours (and I missed by a minute!)
The routine where you get the hour first is a very wise idea for use whilst getting used to the trick. I also try and make it that the time means something to the spec - this gives a suitable reason to patter whilst magicing (is that a word?) the time.
Great product!!! - and something a bit different!

I got the gold and silver version with the brown leather strap. Unfortunatly after 2 weeks the strap started to lose its colour. I also found at some times, Id look at it on my wrist and the hands had moved even though the 'gimmick' was not switched on! Anyone else have problems with it?

What I tend to do is "force" people to pick a time in 5 minute increments. When I ask them to pick a time, I'll say something along the lines of, "now visualise a time and picture the hands of the clock/watch pointing to certain numbers on the face." Or I'll just be more direct and say, "choose a time, but please don't make it too difficult so please make it five past, ten past, quarter past, etc." Either way works, so when it comes to the "reveal", you've got more room for error

Im sooo tempted to get this (especially at £50), but I dont know how I can convince Mrs RDW1971 that the watch Im wearing isnt some magic trick I bought.

I normally sneak stuff into the house without her knowing  , but I think this could be a hard one to pull off - unless of course I learn hypnosis, look into my eyes etc.

These usually go for around £30 on Ebay (usually from reputable sellers too  )

Even if you do spend £50 on a watch, just tell your missus that you're treating yourself to a new watch etc - £50 isn't excessive in my opinion 8) .
If you don't tell her it's a magic prop, she'll never know

If you need to 'get round' Mrs.RDW then perhaps a few suggestions made on http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic8643.p ... vd+dilemma would help. Not sure about the chloroform, possibly a bit excessive. Effective though.

As soon as I've finished work for the week (usually either Thursday or Friday), my work watch comes off and my master's time watch goes on. Then on Sunday night I swop 'em back round ready for the daily grind Monday morning
I tend to find that if I'm gonna get asked "go on show me a trick", it's usually in a pub over the weekend, so at least I know I'll be prepared with at least one impromptu performance :D
