Why does everyone buy from eBay? Why not just go to a reputable dealer who you can be sure of!

Why can't an ebay seller also be reputable? I see a couple of people from here selling there that seem respected.

When I sold off my Gamolo levitation unit, I did that through E-bay. A guy in Las Vegas bought it. There's no way I could have gotten any reasonable amount for it here in Toledo. So, sometimes E-bay can be a good thing. But, you do have to watch out. If I had a 10p for everytime I've seen posts that read, "I just bought this trick off of E-bay and it didn't come with instructions - can anyone tell me how to use it?"

With the permission of one of the mods, I'll publish my listings of both UK and USA cybershops (including brick and mortar shops). Many of them have reviews that point off site, though...But, between the two, there are over 200 cybershop listings.

Mike.

Well they can be. But if I were to choose buying, say, Entourage, I would much rather turn to a company who I KNOW provide an excellent service. I just don't see what the draw is of ebay over a dealer (and yes I know some people on ebay are dealers). Most of the time now I go to an actual magic shop, bricks and mortar like, so that I can get advice from the person behind the counter, as well as his or her recommendations.

I agree that bricks n mortar is best but sometimes that's not possible. With ebay you just find the ones with lots of positive feedback and read them. This can be better than online shops because of the feedback system, any pro seller is going to work extra hard if you have any complaints to avoid the negative feedback whereas other places don't have that extra pressure to give good customer support. I had a few things about my recent purchase I wasn't happy with and the guy has gone out of his way to put things right so I'm happy. There are of course bad ebayers but if you stay alert and check feedback you can avoid them, especially if they have 100% feedback I can't see where you can go wrong.

Okay, I see your point. I guess it's just a matter of preference, and if you can avoid the bad ones then that's cool I guess :).

www.diamondsmagic.com

www.williamsmagic.com

www.funtymemagic.com

The first one is a very cheap site, though the site isn't very pretty and doesn't have many pictures. Use this site to buy videos. If you know what you are looking for just type into the search bar on the page and prepare to save money.

The second one is where I used to shop when I was younger and lived in Arizona. They are very friendly and respectable people, they have alot of tricks for what ever your flavor.

Funtyme is a wonderfully made site. The tricks a quite cheap and plentiful. Also they have many demo videos for you to watch the tricks performance before you buy. They also have compared tricks that work well with that one that show up on that page. Kind of like if you like this trick check this out.

I think that all of these shop ship anywhere so if you are over seas then you can still buy from them, though you will have to pay a shipping charge.

Those are the shops I buy from,
Good luck.

I've sadly learned this, was just ripped off by someone selling a huge ellusionist bundle on eBay. I've also learned he's ripped others off as well, fortunately I was able to recover most of the cash, but not all.
