Practice is something which you should WANT to do, not feel compelled to do.
Magic isn't like gym training, or army training—it's not compulsory or necessary to push yourself to your limits. However, it is your CHOICE as to the frequency and intensity of your practice.
Personally, I *enjoy* practicing card moves etc. whilst watching TV, listening to music, etc. I *enjoy* practicing coin moves while on trains, in cafes, or pubs.
I also *enjoy* practicing new sleights and tricks when I have the time free to study the books or media which contains them.
The more you *enjoy* it, the more you will practice. I tend to find that if anything appears as a chore or dead end, I just drop it until such a time I feel more suitably composed to attempt to learn it—an example of which would be a one-handed second deal—CURSE YOU Rene Lavand!!! (:o)
So, personally, I practice whenever and wherever I can. Rarely do I not have a deck of cards or a couple of half-dollars at hand. And carrying a TT with me is now almost as essential as wearing my socks.
