It's nice, I just don't like the text.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Yeah the blue doesn't really go with the background, maybe change it to a bright white or something.

I would try a new text all together, I just particularly don't like blocky text. Unless you're using the font silkscreen for something small (8.5 pt)

:D All the tutorials for all the application in all the world won't help if you've got no sense of artistic creativity!

A computer and software are tools only... the ideas and talent are in your mind, and art should not be confused with accidental tweakings of sliders and controls in software packages ;)

As for the logo, if that's what you're happy with, go with it.

But all of the best ideas and imagination are no use if you can not use them ;)

We've just finished creating a small lecture set for school pupils wishing to take on graphic/web design as a career... and here's something we noted...

Based on a recent job interview we gave, we actually gave the position to a girl who was useless on computers but whose pen and paper skills displayed her creativity, thought process, and method. Which were excellent. We can live with that.

We spoke to a couple of friendly design agencies locally, who said they'd had their fair share of 'would-be Photoshop jockeys'—which is a term we use here for kids who have aspirations of becoming designers because they've discovered how the layers palette works in their pirated version of Photoshop.

All very, very interesting stuff. But the basic observation is, even using the LIMITED tools you may already have learned in a photo editing package, if you've got an idea in your mind and even SOME common sense about composition, communication and balance you will make something which looks right.
