Lapping.
Have the six cards to be switched in in Tenkai/lateral palm. They can be in your lap, and put into palm by an innocent 'folding of arms'—at which point you reach to your lap. Nothing suspected, as the six cards selected are in full view the whole time.
With the 6 in palm, gather the 6 from the table and simultanously lap them whilst brining the palmed six to view. Done smoothly, this looks like you are literally gathering the cards up and squaring them.
To facilitate the need to 'mess' with the 6 selected cards, you could always have them placed VERY messily on the table during the selection process.
IF YOU'RE NOT SEATED (i.e. lapping is not an option) you can still use the above palming method to switch the cards in... and with the aid of going to your pocket for a large paperclip to hold the six 'selected' cards, you have ample opportunity to ditch the 6 un-needed cards.
