For my first review I thought I'd write a review of another of Mark Wilson's little gems. To follow on from the torn napkin review.
The Effect
Double Thought Projection is a total gem in Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. A spectator names any card that comes into their mind. The magician procedes to take a deck of cards and find that one card has a different colour back. That card is the same as the spectator named.
Then for a double wammy the magician takes a second deck, hands it to the spectator and asks them too look through it. They find a single card of a different colour back which again matches the card they named.
Cost
Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic £14.99
Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
2 (one very simple sleight needed)
Review
I love this trick and use it as the last trick in one of my routines. It always gets fantastic reactions. The spectator is always left wondering what just happened. They have total free choice of card and dont even have to touch a card, just name one off the top of their head. How can that card have a different back to the rest of the deck. And the second hit just finishes it off, the spectator looks through the deck themselves and finds a single card with a different back. Like most tricks you do have to work on getting the presentation correct, but once that's right it's a killer.
Overall
A brilliant trick, well worth dusting off your copy of M W's book for.
