Got my first booking!

Postby Lady of Mystery » Dec 14th, '06, 17:23

Last night I was doing my usual couple of routines around the pubs. I found a couple who were absolutly loving all my magic, I must have been performing for them for nearly an hour. I usually only do one routine for a group but I worked through all my polished routines and even threw in some tricks that aren't qute 100% but it felt right and they went brilliantly.

Anyway after I finished they told me that they were getting married in Feb and would love me to work their reception. So that's it, my first booking is now in my diary.

Woohoo, well done!!! There are a few previous threads about suitable magic for wedding receptions so there might be some extra ideas for you if you need 'em.

Thanks everyone!

I'm really excited about this but at the same time very nervous. I don't feel at all ready for this, it's going to be quite a big step up for me. But I must have impressed them for them to offer me the work.

Just need to really work hard now and make sure all my tricks are flawless.

Sounds to me like you just need to be yourself and do what's most comfortable for you. You've done an extensive 'audition' and your clients know exactly what to expect.

So just enjoy it.

And well done you!! :)

Sweet, well done.
And so another blossoming career begins.
You now have two months to worry and panick about it, but go for it.
I got offered table hopping once at a Lord Mayors dinner and pulled out at the last minute due to nerves.
I really regretted it and ended up giving up magic for three years.
But hey I'm back. :D
For now. :?

a classic is cut and resored rope were you add there wedding ring to the knot and talk about the strugle going back and forth till eventualy you realise your part of a whole and the ring dosn't bind you but instead joins you, if you can add the bit about in the early times a man would bind his wife till she was compliant then would bind her finger as a reminder, depending on clients of cause, then youv'e got a sure fire winneer.
