For some reason, I decided the best thing to do last night was go out armed not only with the usual magical detritus, but also a hip flask full of <holds down bile> Good Scotch. My head feels like there's a very slow nuclear explosion going off in it and I'm due back in the pub at lunchtime too.

Best cure is a big plate of scrambled egg & beans on toast, and a mug of tea.

Well, so it seems...

I went on my works outing last night and drowned myself in wine and Cointreau, and felt like death this morning... but feel OK after prescribed medicine!

Lol its to late for me to tell you now but i'll let you know for future reference. If while in bed you hang one leg out of the side it helps dub down any hangovers that my have arrived or be on their way  Really works too

I'm currently munching my way through a fry up. It's remarkable what a bit of grease can do, isn't it.

Fry ups are the best cure known to man if you can stomach it. Along side a coffee with baileys instead of milk.
Seems it was the night for works dos. Our department met up last night. I must've been lashed, I vaguely remember having a kebab. I am feeling barely human and have to ride to Luton in a bit :?

Go to your local drugest in the aisle that carries the sour stomach remedies like TUMS or Rolaids. If you look at some of the lesser known brands you should find Charcoal tablets in one form or another. Simply take one of these a good hour before you begin the night of social guzzlings followed (if you can remember) by another, as you head off to bed.

This is an old trick used in the corporate world long ago that let's the "executives" have those big power lunches, dinners, etc. and not have such a hard time paying for it the next day... which by the way, when you get up, down a good 8 ounce glass of cold Orange Juice along with a vitamine packet that's heavy on zinc, C, D and a stimulant additive like Caffine.

I've spent years sobering up and helping detox drunks so I've learned a thing or two about hang overs... and yes, the eggs really do help.

Well, the temporary effects of my egg & bean diet have subsided, so now it's a dose of Andrews salts and some paracetamol.

There's nowt worse for a hangover than the wife asking you to go Xmas last minute shopping :(

a 50/50 mix of coke and milk is another one. sounds nasty but actually quite pleasant. Got that one from a pub boss.

Prevention is definately better than cure... some old 'preventions' which may be old wive's tales or urban legend are:

1. Drink lots of milk before hitting the town
2. Charcoal (as above, Craig's plan)
3. Raw eggs, drunk before the party (yuk)
4. PLENTY of water before going to bed, plus paracetamol to keep your internal temp down... apparently you sleep 'hot' after alchol, and part of the hangover is dehydration/poor sleep and overheating during the night
5. Fresh air/exercise... walk off some of the alcohol before bedtime. Not only will you sleep better after a bit of a stroll, but it should help kill some of the undigested alcohol which otherwise just makes you 'drunk in your sleep'
6. NEVER EVER EVER EVER if possible eat spicy or rich foods at the end of the night... these just won't help your digestion during sleep, and you'll feel groggy as hell... no matter HOW MUCH you think they're 'soaking up the booze'
7. Sleep in a cool room, with the windows open. Fresh air and a chill in the air will keep your temp down
8. If you feel at the end of the night like you want to be sick, let it all out! This sounds gross, but it's a good thing... your body can't cope with what's inside, so better out than in
9. DO NOT opt for the 'have a lie-in' option... get up and about as soon as you can, and get some oxygen and nutrients inside you. The alcohol has a bit of a field day with your internal organs, and you need to replenish their natural balances of salts/sugars etc.
10. THE BEST ADVICE is not to drink too much! :D

Can of coke and a packet of walkers ready salted crisps works for me! And a good sausage, bacon and egg sarnie and a big mug of tea!

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

You need to try this to believe it but a large mug of oxtail soup with lots of pepper works wonders on a hangover!

Good idea, sleep solves everything... except for if you have insomnia, then you're screwed...
(*feels bad now, considering the possibility that a TM member has insomnia, then goes and commits suicide*)
