I'm not that keen on this product. YES! its a clever little gimmick but its a pain in the ar**

I found I kept getting little scuffs and cuts on my fingers. Not from the blister! but from the messing around you have to do to get the blister. I have practiced hard and i still get those annoying little cuts. (anyone who has this should know what I mean)

I found alot of people said to me "Thats not a blister" it looks like you have used a ......... (cant say! it would give it away!!)

So I very rarely use this item now! think I might flog it on ebay!!

GREAT GIMMICK THOUGH JASON! i think you could of made life alot easier for everyone by adding something to the gimmick....i will keep this to myself for now!

might make a few ££££££££££££££££££3

I am not a fan of this, well at the moment I havent really given it the time it needs. But I shall continue you to play with it. Havent tested it on the audiance yet either so thats the true test.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I actually tried to make something that did this myself a while back (based on printing the image though) but gave up as it was becoming too damn time consuming! To be fair i think Jason's product is amazing and it shows he's spent an age on its design by just how really is simple it has been made to use and the outcome really looks the part too....

I'm lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it

I have softie's fingers and the images seem to last a while....not always sticking up in a true blister style, but still visable "burn like" long enough anyway..

...now where's that orange wig?

I'm really looking for one of these so for anyone who isn't a fan drop me a pm and I will gladly take it off of you...Just don't feel like orderingit full price as I recently ordered Wow-Masuda, Autobend Silverware and Electric Touch...So if you are willing to sell it a bit cheap then what you bought it for drop me a line ...

No sorry, dont know what you mean!! :?

How the hell are you cutting yourself on this gimmick>?? Do you keep razor blades in your pocket!??! I mean, seriously thats not recommended on any level!!

You just need to get used to the system, it does take a little practice but its well worth it.

And most often, depending on who your performing for.. you can pretty much guess what card they are thinking of anyway.. or if you know certain skills you could lead them to a certain card.. but that really isnt neccesaryl..

Ive only ever had one person say to me ''You must have a ace of spades or whatever blistery thingy on you somewhere??''

I replied.. ''yeh I do.. 52 of them!!''

That shut him up..

Without giving too much away. I find I cut my fingers on the "clubs" part of the gimmick. Maybe a received a dodgy gimmick. Ive performed this trick hundreds of times and I would consider myself to be a pro at it. But I still get the cuts! :( :( :( And about 50% of the people ive performed it on very nearly sussed it out! :( :( :(
(thats not because ive performed it badly either!!)
I think Mr palter has missed out a vital addition to this effect that would make this trick SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE!!

Im working on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!££££££££££££££££££££££££

Hello all:

I was just informed regarding the direction that this thread was taking, and more notably the problems that comfortablynumb was having. Let me first of all apologize that my Third Degree Burn was not all that you expected it to be. And more to the point, I’m so sorry that the gimmick is causing you any discomfort, but to be honest I think you did in fact receive a “dodgy” one.

I have been fortunate to not only receive rave reviews about the trick, but also to have sold a ton of these around the world. Unfortunately when you are dealing with numbers that high in any type of product (DVDs, electronic equipment, magic tricks, etc.), every so often you will get one or two that don’t work properly and/or were not assembled or constructed as well as they should have been. Keep in mind that parts of Third Degree Burn are machined, and other parts are actually assembled by hand, so with the law of averages, you might get a few that are not up to “spec”.

Comfortablynumb, based on your description, you obviously received a defective unit. The gimmick should cause absolutely no discomfort when used properly. While I appreciate your frustration and wanting to express your feelings on a public magic board, I think that it also would been good form if you had contacted me directly so that I may try to rectify the situation.

I pride myself on my product quality and more importantly my customer service, and many have expressed their appreciation for both of these on the various forums. And as you will read on my website, we would be happy to replace a defective item within 30 days of purchase (please refer to the “Terms and Info” link on the site for more details).

As I said, I think you simply just received a gimmick that did not get “finished” properly. Please contact me personally so that we may try to rectify this situation. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you all for your time.

Best regards,

sorry to say but I think comfortablynumbs post indirectly leads to exposure, I had completely got the wrong (and probably lay persons) view to how TDB was done until I read the above posts and looked at the demo vid.
sussed it immediately, and tested the theory to confirm my suspicions -bingo.

though I really like the way it has been achieved, I have decided to save my cash(what little is left of it due to CUPS) for now.

I do love the idea though and imagine the gimmick to be much less cumbersome than I first imagined (mini special fx lab in my pocket with carefully trained ants running around, looking for the right blister to stick on :)), so will probably buy it at some point in the future anyway.

maybe jason palter should put the old video back up so you cant see the blisters so clearly!

Hello all:

Catweasel, I thank you for your comments. As well as my trick is selling, and as many positive reviews that it receives, I know that it is not for everyone. Perhaps you will reconsider in the future, but as always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

And in regards to the video comment: LOL! I can't tell you how many people contacted me at first and also posted because they felt that you couldn't see the blisters properly in the first "promo" video. That is why I added the "performance" video. It just goes to show you that you can't please everyone, right? Ha!

And finally regarding the ants in the pocket----that was actually going to be my back-up method had my gimmick not worked properly. Great minds think alike, huh?

As I've mentioned for current owners of Third Degree Burn, please don't forget to come to the Third Degree Burn page on our website and sign up for your free .pdf booklet that has 25 bonus ideas in it.

As always, if anyone would like ordering info or if you have any other questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you again for your time and business!

Best regards,
