My xpert has arrived. Apart from the fact that I had pretty much guessed the form it would come in, I say Yippeee. It's BRILLIANT.

Going to have to go and buy a pack of Waddingtons.

Everybody probably has already realised this - but this effect has been added to the "Trick Owners Club" area where open discussions can be made.

Sorry again for coming so late in on an existing thread.

I just wanted to enquire: Is it possible to use the Xpert WITHOUT using playing cards?

I want to possibly use plain pieces of paper (perhaps different thicknesses are needed, that's OK) for which to work with, during some cold reading.

I've ordered it from magictricks.co.uk....I've read so much about it, I know it will benefit my performance....just hoping my little dream will come tru, with regard to the 'plain paper'!

It can be used with many things including coins and paper.

No, Xpert won't work with plain paper at all. We can't say too much in the open but it works very well with some items and won't work at all with others.

Yes but the point is Mandrake it will work with paper. In other words it will work in the way he wants it to, just needs to choose correctly.

Thanks to Mandrake for the (non-revealing) explanation as to why plain paper will AND won't work !

I understand that there are limitations and will work this into my performances.

I was once told by Docc Hilford that an effect of his (inherited by he) could be used to "build a church"...and with the Xpert, I think that may become a reality used in conjunction with that effect (am keeping it to myself for now-will talk more of it, after testing it, in conjunction with Xpert).

(NB: I do not plan on taking up carpentry, bricklaying or any other construction method, he meant ' build a following of religious-like zeal', of course! )
