It would work just as well as a blank facer. You would have to force it though, or start without them picking a card.

I could use the riffle force I think that would work right? So they picked the joker or would that look obvious?

Just tell them it's a brand new deck. Then when they pick the joker just say, oh yeah, I forgot to take the jokers out, anyway that card will do.

Jokers would be fine, I've got a trick where I force both the jokers and it always goes down really well.

I'm surprised no-one has already suggested this, but if you get yourself over to Staples or any other stationery store and buy a few dry wipe (whiteboard) markers - or swipe one from school (joke, don't do that really). The signature will dry on the card just like any normal marker and shouldn't rub off on to any other card. It wont come off easy until you attack it with a damp cloth, not a wet cloth because that'll ruin the card.

With this you can perform a signed card routine several times and when you get home just wipe off the signatures and have a fully restored deck of cards.

Since this thread got brought back up...

One suggestion is to force a card from the "feeder" deck rather than replacing a card from the real deck with one from the pack of extras, the reason being that after you use a deck for some time, you'll wind up with cards that are worn differently and handle relatively poorly. Forcing extras rather than replacing old cards will let the deck wear uniformly.

You really don't need a full deck for a lot of tricks anyway.

Ciao,
Rob
