Coin in bottle(s) - Ellusionist

Postby chris2215 » Feb 24th, '07, 12:23

I am sure many of you have heard about the three new coin in bottle (CIB) effects that Ellusionist will be brining out in 2007, however I couldn’t find a thread here at TM so here is what I know so far....

Please note, that this information is not official and is just my interpretation of the threads I have read around the Internet.

For many years, a magician from PA, USA - Nick Verna has been performing highly visual CIB effects. He has three versions that he submitted to Ellusionist that they are now going to produce.

CIB V.1: Impromptu coin into plastic bottle. A bottle is examined and the coin slammed (kinda like Sinful) into the bottom of a bottle and immediately seen inside, both hands are then shown to be empty.

CIB V.2 Coin through glass bottle (possibly a large wine bottle) the magician visually and slowly pushes the coin into any part of the bottle, the spectator chooses.

CIB V.3 known as 'Factory Sealed' a coin penetrates a brand new, unopened, factory sealed bottle of water.

Interestingly, Ellusionist are keeping very quiet over these new effects, which some may say is surprising as they have somewhat of a reputation for over hyping. Instead the hype is coming from people who know Nick V, people who have seen different versions of his CIB's at magic conventions etc AND reputable performers and creators like Justin Miller and Marc DeSouza.

The CIB has always been an effect that I have performed. I was very disappointed with Abyss and usually just use a FC. But I have to say that these new CIBs sound very, very interesting indeed.

For real reviews from people who know Nick and have seen these CIB's live, please read; [Edit: you need to be a member of the Magic Cafe forums to find the thread - sign up and search for 3 CIB's for more info]

The search function is only available for registered members (the main reason I registered)...

Here's The Latest and Greatest forum... at the moment it's quite near the bottom of the page.

That's pretty interesting. I read both the MagicCafe and E topics on this. They both say that these should be released early this year...So I'm pretty sure a teaser (only at E :D ) should be out soon to egg us on. But since all of these are going to be sold together, I'd imagine a hefty fee with it.

Thanks,
Dominick

I actually think they are going to be sold separately, just from reading around but please dont take that as a definite fact, its just from what I have read.

If you search for the thread over at the cafe there are even a couple of pictures of the effects that one user as posted.

I have to say i am very interested into what Nick and Ellusionist have been working on.....

Hey guys,

Just thought I would share this, here is a short 'performance story' of the second CIB - "Factory Sealed".

This is a direct quoute from the magic cafe thread;

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Posted: Apr 16, 2007 11:01pm

Just a heads up. I did the second version for some folks today while I was getting new tires. They had a pop machine there so I got a bottle of water out of the machine, borrowed a coin, and laid the coin on my hand. They then took the bottle and laid it on the coin....MELT, right through the bottle and the guy took it home as a souvenior (sp?). Anyways this girl standing next to him looked at me and said "who are you?"..priceless.

Justin N. Miller

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you havent already, check out the threads at Ellusionist and more importantly over at the CAFE regarding the three new coin in bottles coming from Ellusionist and Nick Verna - sounds simply unbelievable.

Can't wait!

Postby Gemzgo347 » Apr 30th, '07, 14:26

They all sound absolutely amazing.

The glass one sounds perfect for restaurant magic, so hopefully E will release it. If not hopefully the creator will. I want that one for my style of magic.

Actually I want to have them all. You never know what situation you'll be in. I'm definitely going to pick these up whether they come out one at a time or not.

They all sound great and perfect for different situations.

Factory Sealed by Nick verna is said to be like nothing of it's kind.
I can't wait for these CIBs

Update

Postby chris2215 » May 1st, '07, 14:04

Ellusionist have finally released some information on their CIBs.

Two CIBS will be released.

1) 'Bullet' Created by Matthew Mello & Nick Verna.

2) 'Factory Sealed' Created by Nick Verna.

Input from Brad Christian, Justin Miller and Wayne Houchin went into this project too.

The final CIB will not be released. This would appear to be the glass CIB from Nick Verna.

What a shame that the glass version will still remain secretive to those who are dying to learn it.
I really wanted to experiment with the inside secrets to that effect.
It sounds incredible.

The other two sound great also and maybe a little more suitable for street magic. I'd still like to learn the innovation revolutionary methods with the Anywhere-on-the-Glass bottle as well.

I can respect Nick's and Ellusionist's decision to release the two street versions for now and keep the glass one off the market. I am happy to learn anything groudbreaking and welcome whateever is released at this time.

Hopefully the creator, Nick Verna, will allow it to be released one day for those interested in glass bottle type settings.

I know I'd be the first to grab it. I love glass penetrations.

Yeah Ellusionist CIB's should be great.

The creators have impossible magic that even the pros love.

The teaching is by Brad Christian & Justin Miller and Wayne Houchin did some of the filming.

I can't wait to see these.

The glass CIB will remain a secret untill the creator decides to release it.
I want them all.

CIB effects are awesome. So many CIBs saturating the market since Ellusionist announced their new releases.

I will wait for the Bullet & Factory Sealed.
Those are said to be the BEST...by far.
