My god... that was an overly annoying statement. To start with, it seemed like you were genuinely asking for genuine guidance and might check out the material you were asking for..

then you go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like '' Any free sites I can go to and leech magic secrets '' which in effect is what you said..

You sum up all the drudd stench pieces of cra*p we get leaking into these forums..

I so wish you were just jokin.. but you werent!!

Question: Is the forum entirely against all acquiring of secrets by any costless means? Even Mark Wilson didn't devise the entirety of the tricks in his book, and I fail to see how his book is different than a website detailing said tricks except that the website doesn't cost money.

Now, if cost is not the issue, but rather the issue is a need for a sign of dedication or determination, or something of the sort, so that the seeker may prove his merit prior to learning the secret, well that seems to be a bit strange.

It's not that I object. I'm sure there's a coherent set of rules about what can and cannot be revealed where and when and whether we can offer a specific kind of guidance and what that guidance might be, I just don't think anyone has clearly defined it: it's not in the etiquette section, which only explicitly prohibits the revelation or trading of purchased tricks.

My basic answer is, could someone be allowed to reveal the Classic Force, for example, to a learning magician interested in learning how to force a card? Is even saying the words "Classic Force" against the rules because, armed with such a descriptor, one could easily Google said effect?

I know the forum is against exposure. My question is why. Again, I am not arguing for exposure, I just want the rationale explained why someone who requests a secret cannot be pointed to a free source of information.

I apologize if I've angered anyone with this post. My comments were not meant to be rhetorical, only educational. Please do not take anything I've said to be an attack on either this website or the institution of magic itself. Thanks.

Christ on a Bike Deck. Not again!

Putting smilies around a blatant request for stolen goods doesn't make it any less of a crime, you know.

But because it's you, go here: http://www.mallusionist.com/

You'll have to type the URL in yourself, as they're locked down at the moment.
