the only thing they don't do is back up your website but i am pleased with everything else they do.
i have contacted them and they allow people to transfer domains and hosting plans to other companies.
i do agree with third party hosting for your domains but if they are giving five domains included a don't see why i should go anywhere else, i know this is only going to last a year but i will make the most of it.
I'm not sure what you 'beg to differ' with, if you read my post you'll see that there are no differences between what I said and your experiences. Nevermind.
No web host is going to say you'll have any problems transferring domains, etc. You can't expect them to say "well actually we plan to screw you over when it comes to switching hosts."
This isn't to say STRATO plan to do this.
If you can't see the problem with registering your domain name with your host, have a look at problems people have had with 1&1.com. A third-party host has no interest at all in where you point your DNS nameservers. If everything goes wrong with your host, they restrict your access, take down your site, and so on - you always have the option of changing hosts, all you have to do is log into your domain account at your register. If the host, who is mucking you around, controls access to your domain name, you're in trouble.
This isn't a criticism of STRATO, just advice about registering domains with your host.
