Easy assumption to make, MJ - the Shapeshifter is a nice move, and - more importantly for beginners (arguably E's target market) - is somewhat easier to master than the Snap-change.
That-aside, they're both eye-popping changes, and very visual.
The downside to the Shapeshifter? - The audience can work it out easily, unless you move on quickly.
The downside to the Snap-Change? It's much knackier to get down correctly, is angle-sensitive, and takes extra work to clean-up (the upside, though, is that the SC looks like
real magic, and will keep the specs guessing for the rest of their lives!!!

)
EDIT: It's nice to see someone, coming from an Ellusionist Intro to the art, and beginning to move out of their comfort-zone, Jim - how does it feel to be stepping into the wider wold of magic? (Time for a name-change - can I suggest, 'Chrysalis-Jim'?

)
