It's OK, but you should introduce yourself before asking for opinions. The method's a bit obvious, unfortunately.

Cute idea, badly executed. Work on it a bit and make it more foolproof, and you'll have a great effect. Very nice idea. By the way, WHO ARE YOU?

Its wasn't terrible, however you make it look obvious because of your handling. Not the best of starts :x

Citrus,

You are too kind. Yes, it was terrible.

Pokemon,

If you are serious about being a magician you have a lot of work to do. Visit the different threads on this site about beginning and what to buy and learn. But please, don't post such appaling vids and expect people to like them. When you have learnt a little from the various books and videos available you will realise how bad your first vid was when trying to impress us.

Please research what is available here to beginners.

HEY! If the idea was executed in a better and more foolproof fashion ie with a gimmick, it may not be too bad. Yes, I agree this video was horrid, and I do think this kid should introduce himself before even considering posting.

If the image of the phone vanishes from the paper, it might be better. Also, try adding some sort of gimmick to make the effect more foolproof.

By the way, you should post your introduction in the Introductions forum

Also, I suggest you stop going to MetaCafe. Their system totally disrespects magic as an art and makes it seem like mere puzzles. They support exposure too.

To improve your trick, you might want to show the front and back of the paper before loading the phone.

Honestly, though, I think you should abort the effect- its been done and done better in the past.

Like the others have said its an intresting idea. Mr Kras this is what i mean about more logical magic. If you get my drift and gimmicks are not allways the best way forward.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Buy Maynia by Andrew Mayne. There is a similar effect to this where he produces a light bulb from a drawing on a piece of paper, but his handling is awesome and very smooth. Give it a look

When will you learn that gimmicks aren't the solution to everything, how about using skill to perform effects, which actually require effort to use unlike gimmicks. I can now see why people have been getting annoyed with your comments

Yes, I know gimmicks aren't the solution. I typically never use them. Why would that be annoying?

I just thought ith that particualr effect and since he is a beginner a gimmick would suit him.

Hope that clears things up!

It's a good idea, but a bad trick. Nice effort.

Here's an idea...

A picture of a phone you want is sealed in a Fed-Ex mailing envelope, then a number is chosen at random from a phone book. The number is called by an audience member (or the original spectator if you're working for a small crowd) and the envelope rings. The spectator opens the envelope and removes a blank card and a cell phone.

Using a Lee Earle envelope innovation and some clever equivoque, you could have a killer effect.
