Hi T-

I am very new to this forum -
But I have been using self-hypnotism for years ... and I am about to be certified with the NGH here in the states.

I am not sure what you are looking for exactly. Reading and learning hypnosis from a book is a tall order. Not to say it can't be done, just that it will take more effort on your part.

Are you wishing to learn techniques? What do you hope to accomplish with it?

NLP Gurus tend to explain the techniques in a greater detail - Where as hypnosis Guru tends to be more intuitive in it handling of the same subject. NLP is probably easier to learn simply because there are more resources out there, many of them are free. So I would recommend you start there.

The best NLP book I have ever seen on it is ....
"Advanced Language Patterns" by Larry McLauchlin

You can only find it on the web I think and it cost $40. It is very easy to read.

Here is the website.... http://www.nlpandhypnosis.com/freenlp.html

Even if you don't buy the book -
DOWNLOAD THE FREE EXERCISES as they are a great intro and give you a good idea as what to expect from the book.

"Hypnosis" by David Elman would be a good intro to hypnosis.

Good luck! Hope it helped!
-misj

PS -I have yet to get my hands on either one but I hear nothing but raves for both "deeper and deeper" & "Slight of mind"

Re; hypnosis, I have reviewed a rather good book by Ormond McGill in the book reviews section. I recommend that and Jonathon Chase's "Deeper & Deeper". Sleight of Mind is also worth looking at.

Here my Lordship very good books. I had people falling over yesterday using suggestion. I was on cloud 9.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

OK - just invested in Deeper & Deeper. Will give it a blast and then move on - was thinking perhaps the ency to stage hypnotism by Mcgill?
