I'm just curious, what didn't you like about Banachek's DVD?
I thought it was great. I learned a ton about muscle reading, and the interview/story telling at the end was fun.
I felt the interview bits were fluff and the muscle reading bits very superficial. Most of all though, I listed it because I never have and almost certainly never will use muscle reading.
For example, I really liked the ESP card effects, but you didn't.
Well I for one liked Room 101. So there. Just takes a mild amount of guts and some performing ability

I perform one effect with my mirage deck, and have to say that it was worth the money for that deck tenfold, to perform this effect.
I even let my mate examine the deck beforehand!
This effect, I don't believe you could do with a svengali, as easily as with this
