which is why changing glue is essential.. you can mix away by hand and your fingers will be safe

google E glue, its better than changing glue but the same thing in essence.. cheaper too..

e glue is a water base solution that when combined with glue, gives glue its same properties but makes it unaffected by human skin, which is why you need it, as you have to use fingers to mix the solution otherwise it wont work..

If you really want to go down the route of making a billet pencil, its a bit of a long winded process.. you have to make some sacrifices..

If you want a cheaper and easier method of accomplishing the same thing, just say so.

I was going to suggest if he isnt up to the task then he could cop out and listen to the 'new age' advice of Craig Browning and The Age..

bear in Mind Mr Blapsing Beard, yourself and I have a billet pencil production team that make ours for us..

You see Lil Chris.. we have ( and also Lord Freddie ).. we all have a bunch of vietnemese children working 11 hours a day for less than minumum wage.. and they make our billet pencils for us.. I would never go back to making my own when I ( we ) have our very own live prodution line!!

But if you persist with it.. congrats.. maybe.. if you get it down.. you can work for us!!

I.D is right, but if you really wanna make your own, I highly recommend getting hold of "Filling in the Cracks" by Phil McCracken, there's various methods for making one in there, along with many substitutes as well.

The technique I use is a combination of the methods explained by Bill Shot and Peter File. The e glue needed comes frozen and is in a dome shape for easy use.
There is also the 'revolver' billet pencil where the barrel of a gun is inserted into the hollowed out pencil and modified so that the billet shoots into your mouth whilst you pretend to chew the end of it. Very good and used by the 1920's Chinese magician Su E Sade.

I too had trouble finding henna for a while but a chemist friend of mine suggested soaking a cigarette in urine for a couple of days (the ammonia in the urine negates the effect of the nicotine). After 48 hours remove the paper and filter from the mix then drain away the liquid leaving just the tobacco. Chew the tobacco slowly for about 5 minutes, spitting the "juice" out when your mouth gets full (the juice will be a mix of saliva stained by the tobacco).

Once your saliva comes out clear either spit out or swallow the tobacco as it won't be needed any more - the solution you have can then be used instead of henna.

I would advise using 4 or 5 cigarettes at a time to get a decent amount of solution - you won't want to run out half way through.

If you need any other advice please do not hesitate to ask :D

Ooh - and be careful while handling the glue.

Doesn't anyone make the damned things anymore? Corinda used to sell them and I found them very useful. I don't think there is anything outdated about them at all. I used to own a few but they are long gone.

I used to use it in a Just Chance (Bank Night) routine. It worked out fine in that application.

Your suggestion may work but only if you use the urine to make henna instead. Otherwise you wont get the correct mix.

If you dont want to use your own urine, which lets face it, doesnt taste that bad, then you need e glue.

You really only have a few options in this day and age.

no pencils I'm afraid, but Billet Pens can certainly still be obtained (and relatively cheaply too :D ): http://www.magicinc.net/index.asp?PageA ... rodID=1052

I don't know about making a billet pencil, but 'magic inc' sell a billet pen. http://www.magicinc.net/index.asp?PageA ... rodID=1052

Please note I have never bought from this supplier so I know little about their reliability.

Just so you know peeps... you can still get billet pens, if not pencils anymore

I think you will find the thing here http://www.magicinc.net/index.asp?PageA ... rodID=1052

Ive never bought one but I can see how a pen over a pencil could be useful
