wouldn't it be so much a nicer world if people could just accept that everyone has different opinions and beliefs.

I was in an Occult shop in Canterbury a few weeks ago, as soon as I came out I was pounced on by a man telling me that he wanted to save my soul. Why do these people feel they have to make everyone belive in the same thing. Why can they just accept that everyone's different and nobody wrong.

Because a) their "faith" teaches them that they are right and everone else is wrong and b) because they've nothing better to do with their time than to go around saving souls.

There's a word from my youth than seems appropriate for these people: "Loonies".

We cant all be right if we have opposing beliefs. This idea that opposing religions can be honestly followed (by the rules of their holy books) and at the same time everyone be right is a complete misnomer spread by wooley liberal moderates.
In the main monotheist religions God is certainly not a moderate and does not tolerate other forms of worship other than the one any particular holy book denotes. Both Christian and Islamic dogma states that the only true path is their one. Anyone of a differing opinion is therefore wrong and therefore unless converted spends an eternity of damnation or if they're lucky a stint in purgatory before being judged.

he was probably trying to chat you up lomster...

i would say to those who are unforgiving towards the tarot, please remember that normal playing cards were and still are used for divinatory purposes too..and historically, go far further back than the tarot..

just cos they have vivid imagery doesnt mean that you're going to hell for using them...that's Razzle...never mix the two up...

Tarot and regular cards are merely decorated cardboard rectangles. It's the way they're used, the purpose of use, and who's using them which decides if they're good or bad - just like many other things in life.

I recall that there is a requirement for what I think is 1,000 people to sign up for a religion for it to become an officialy recognised faith. You may recall that Jedi is now a recognised faith / religion in the UK because of this.

Wouldn't it be something for us all to get together and make TM a faith in it's own right. We could then dismiss all other discussions about other faiths and religions and just focus on the magic

That would be cool. I suggest that we call ourselves the Grand Wizarding Order of Talk Magic, and that our first decree be that our "faith" is very probably wrong and is open to influence from all viewpoints, religions, and doctrines. We should also promise to never, ever attempt to save anyone's soul.

If we get around to saving fallen women, can you save one for me please?

As there many internet sites offering certificates of ordination in all sorts of non-existnent Churches, perhaps we could make a few quid by offering the same sort of thing from here  ?

If our holy communion can consist of vodka and coke and chocolate I think is sounds like a great idea.

So it has been ordained and so shall it be. (Quick, pass the collection plate before everyone goes home)
