Strange question. The Himber ring is so different to the ellis ring.
i have a himber but have only once performed something with it, Its not that i didnt like it, quite the oposite, i loved performing it, but because i havent had the chance to play in a large venue for a while. And it should be remembered that this is not a close up effect . It was created by Perci Diaconis, ( yup, not Richard Himber ) to perform in caberet and night clubs, where you are a reasonable distance from the audience.
Also, it is in many ways like the t.t, in that the audience never see it. You only show the audience member who loaned the rings their rings.
Now the ellis ring on the otyher hand can be done at a reasonably close range, in effects like ring on rope, wand, etc.
I own an Ellis chinese coin , which gets lots of use with a piece of red ribbon tied between the thumbs of a couple. the routine " chinese wedding" realy goes down well with punters, and the plot revolves around the reason why the coin has a hole in it, and how the dowery is given to the bride on her wedding night.
Very visual, and perfect for valentines, weddings etc.
sounds like an advert doesnt it? but it's not.
