I would say the opposite though...Between the lines is a good concept, but then you're paying fifteen quid for the one effect...with Naked Mentalism, you're paying 30 quid, for unlimited effects...

Wasn't saying that Between the Lines was better, or better value for money, just that if you like it, then Naked Mentalism could also be up your street :)

Tomo wrote:No pitchforks for a good, honest review. :D It does frighten me when people say it's worth £1000's, though!

What you have to keep in mind is that the Naked Philosophy isn't to produce 100% certainty like a trick but to reproduce the imperfect powers of a "real" psychic - only much more accurately. Better results will come through more experience, but 75% is already 25% better than the baseline results you'd expect from testing the real thing. With the NBT, for instance, it's important to remember to explain that it's an ability you're trying to learn rather than presenting it as something guaranteed. As you say, however, it'll get better with experience and mastering the force for the NBT and the NCP will go a long way to increasing the hit rate. That's something I've found people sometimes skimping on slightly, and when they realise it, their results go through the roof.

Hehe, I wasn't really thinking about you when I was talking about the pitchforks!

Yeah, I can see your points - I guess that I'd have to think more about how to present it alongside more 'dead on' stuff. Maybe only use it alongside other Naked type effects where the outcome isn't so certain.

I have only started reading this, but I am already impressed.

Two things I had come up with for effects of mine, based on things I had garnered from elsewhere, are in the book. I'm actually rather relieved, as I had wondered if I was just kidding myself about them working!

It struck me the other day, that this book is a bit like Family Fortunes! "We asked 100 people to name a farm animal. Our survey said..." :)

It might be worth trying to see if one of the cable/satellite channels is running re-plays. It could offer a few more good words to use. Or, if they bring it back, you could get Naked Mentalism and use the knowledge to win the big prize!

Did anything ever come of the mooted forum for this book?

Follow the link at the start of Part I and there's a massive database of cur/target pairs, young Womble!

I'm still trying to work out whether there's enough interest in Naked techniques to sustain a forum. Volume II is on the way, but in the meantime, what do you chaps and chapesses reckon? I get a steady flow of emails a week with ideas and presentations ofthe various techniques, so maybe a private forum where they can be discussed and developed would be good.

I think the idea of a forum is a brilliant idea, I'd certainly be interested in it

having a rad through, and I must say it is good. Just tried the NBT over the phone for a friend...anything from a 4-7 letter word. Let us say she was amazed to say the least ;)

Pretty scared actually...I love it :D

I also love the idea of getting a free hit! I was saying "right...again then...do this again...again...againthen, (realising no reaction) I said - the word isn't "again"" before she replied "it is" and I then said "exactly...why else was I repeating it? Thought I would have a play ariound with you that time"

She was surprised, and suitibally impressed :P

I am not a fan of the naked book test as we all know, well if you dont you do now. For me what I loved about the book was the cover.....Ok only joking but the priming sections the stuff in that section is the real work.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Ordered the book today.

Anyone know how long it takes for Lulu to fulfil its orders? I bought a book about bunnies or somesuch by some guy called Craig Browning and I'm still waiting rather impatiently... pacing up and down... Checking my emails and the letterbox every three minutes... grumbling under my breath... bingeing on snacky-cakes...
