Sorry, Digi, the only free resources people round here will recommend are:

1. Learning tricks from your uncle, or other relative.

2. Waiting until a cereal company or fast food joint is doing a promotion that includes free magic tricks.

Look at it from our point of view; you tell us you really want to learn magic, but you aren't willing to pay a fairly small amount of money to buy a book that would give you enough magic for a lifetime. That doesn't show a lot of commitment, does it? :)

lets throw digi a bone here.
go to utube and learn the tricks exposed by other people who don't want to pay for anything, you might learn a few basic tricks.
unfortunatly you won't learn the fundimentals of performing to the public which you would have picked up from here had you not alienated most of the forum members by showing so much direspect to us and the art.
next go to your local libary and check out the reference section on magic in the performing arts section, take some time to read the reference material contained there in and come back to us with a renued apreciation for the hard work it takes to be a proper magician and try again to win our favour by showing your willing to put in at least the basic effort it takes to read a book.

I forgot all about libraries!

Which would have been quite daft, even if I hadn't mentioned them in a similar topic not so long ago. Luckily the magicdiscoman was there with the save.

Digi, I'm telling you right now that you can't learn anything that will make people look up to you and be amazed by you from the youtube tricks. It's not possible. Period.

If you are serious about magic, you will work for some extra cash and put that towards magic and what you want to learn.

If you don't think it will benefit you in the long run, then don't put the time, money, and effort into it. Trust me, it's one of those things you just have to do.
