I have had my ring sat in a drawer for some time now, and have NEVER used it.
After re reading this topic i feel inspired again and shall hunt for mine the instant i get home.
It helps that im a "ring wearer" anyway, and my Pk ring will be lost amongst the rest.

I asked this question when I got mine. Thne answer is not much. You can put selotape on the ring and that will dull the noise but not cut it out entirely.

I also bought a medium as someone above did and found it a bit big but I can wear it on my middle finger. I have found that if I take of the ring I usually wear on my right hand which is half white gold half gold and put on my PK not even my wife notices I have changed. Its just not a big deal

Why doesn't the varnish provide a mechanical barrier between the ring and skin? That sounds like proper magic to me?!

I purchased the Relic & Scorpion, complete with PK ring supplied with Relic from Outlaw, only to find my skin doesn't like the ring (or the Relic chain). I was hoping to wear both everyday for that totally impromptu magical opportunity.
I'm not allergic to silver, but I am allergic to the particular silver that the Relic chain is made out of. I am normally fine with titanium, silver and even cheap tin rings I've had in the past have been fine.

I wonder what particular thing I'm allergic to?
The current solutions I can see are:
Coat ring with nail varnish
Get an alternative chain for the Relic itself (shame because I quite like the Relic chain)
Find out exactly what I am allergic to and find a cure.. that's why I'm posting this

Anybody else have any other ideas? Just in case there's a dermatology expert amongst us?

The anil varnish thing didn't work for me. It ended up flaking off and making the ring rust. Luckily, I kindly received a replacement from World Magic Shop.

Although it claims you'll never take it off, I have to as it does create a severe allergy to my fingers which I also get from cheap metals. Stainless steel and proper gold and silver are fine but some metals give me an awful rash. Sadly, the PK ring is one of those.

I jumped on the band wagon and got a Black's ring. I read from a lot of you that you use it stop watches. I never intend to use it for that but logic tells me that once you have stopped the watch you have pretty much screwed the spectator, will they not be required to go out and get a new battery for thier watch?

I'm a little confused. This post was started in November 2006. The prop has been discussed, The properties of the prop have been discussed, possible uses of the this prop has been discussed all on this thread. Four pages and a year plus later you are bring up an exposure watch? I agree with you but I think its a little late.

dont be confused - im just mentioning that we should be careful what we discuss so openly...

and all members can edit their posts retroactively afterall...so the date doesnt matter...

All watches have been fine afterwards in my case, never had a problem.

By the way, I think the ad for the ring mentions what it can do so that may come up in Google searches possibly. I know one scamp who did do a search after a well-received watch-stopping performance I gave and mentioned a similar gimmick, but not the correct one, so he was stumped further. He mentioned a r***n which was close but no cigar.
