If you hold the card case in your right hand, with the flap open and the flap side of the case upwards, that is shading the opening of the case, you can appear to be placing the deck into the box, when you are actually placing the deck under the box.
Tuck the flap in, and pull the case away from the deck into your left hand. Let your right hand slowly fall to your side and place the case on the table or in some other convenient location.
Body turn away from the deck location and allow the entire deck to drop into your right trouser or jacket pocket. Make sure you look only at the case when you do this.
Do not actually say, "I will put the cards into the case. Now I will place them on the table." If you do, the spectators will burn your right hand. Just be casual.
