First of all I thought it was really fun, very professional (I know that means a lot to you coming form a complete amateur  )

I think this might have been one of the longest, yet most engaging performances I have seen of the ID. I certenly couldn't hold an audince like that for that long.

Michael Jay wrote:I love watching the classic ID presentation. I think that it is overlooked by many performers as being too long and this attitude has completely detroyed what is a powerful and entertaining routine.

I have known the "take this ID, shuffle it... after you take it out of the box. etc" presentation to be "classic" was the way you had the card selected your own spin? I have never seen that before.

If im honest, it happened by accident.

When I was writing the show, I wanted the show to be funny and magical, but I didnt want it to be hundreds of magic tricks. I just ended up writing the routine as it is, but at first I only allowed 4 minutes for it. As I started to perform it, I realised that it was much longer, without being boring.

I suppose its just natural progression of a routine. If anyone wants to chat to me about it at Blackpool, then feel free to!

Nice one Mark, thanks for posting that. Apart from really enjoying the performance, it has finally cemented my realisation that, it's not the trick or the handling or the props or even the outfit that makes the magic, it's the performer and their ability to engage the audience and create the show. A simple trick that filled a good time slot in your show because of your personality, your preparation and your professionalism.

By the way, where you really in Penrith? I lived there for a year a few years ago and found it wholly uninspiring.

Thank again

DT
