Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Same sort of ones as me by the sounds of things

Anyway, back on topic...
I used to have crowds of people watching me dance at clubs because I'd use my d'lites to pull a light from the DJs lights and then throw them around and generally incorporate them into my dancing... Once I'd finished or fancied a rest I'd then go and stick the light back - normally to applause and people offering to buy me drinks  8)

If you're really nice, I'll even go dig up the video...

Cheeky cheeky

Anyways, as promised, the d'lites stuff.
It's not great I know and the original file sharing post pointed out many of it's shortcomings, but you'll get the idea.

I won't say I told you so...oops :D

In similar sitations I use the Fibre Optics rope routine, sponge balls, silk & TT routine & fork bending. You can mime what you want the spectator to do if they are involved and make sure you over-emphasise/mime looks of amazement on your own face when the magic happens.

To take out a deck of cards in a night club is ludicrous as far as im concerned,i think it seems geeky.

i think that off the cuff spontaneous effects work best,as if ya just though ''hey ill show ya this trick''

Also do the ''1-2-3 throw over shoulder'' trick with a folded in quater beer mat.Its fools the whole crowd gathered around ya and ya dont have to worry about whos drink it lands in cause you didnt throw it ;)

The Cultural Xchange dvds have some good stuff as Disco mentioned, beware though some of it is gosh darned angly. Very direct though, there's a couple of nice packet transpos in the spec's hands for example. There's nowt wrong with an ACR in a loud enviroment, no need to speak just crack on with it, they'll get the idea.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

Is it just me or is there a scary likeness between Richard Sanders in the Fibre Optics dvd and Ross out of Friends?
