...called How to Develop a Perfect Memory by Dominic O'Brien. I just went searching for a second copy on Amazon and discovered they only have three secondhand copies for sale, starting at about £55; the other two copies are £70 each. (Apparently, it is now out of print and is difficult to find). Bearing in mind this is a paperback that I paid about £5 for several years ago, I was quite chuffed. I've searched for it on other websites that deal in rare, out of print books and the average price I'm getting is about £70 or US$140-150.
I can't even find a copy on eBay, which has got to be a first. My wife thinks I should sell it but I'm not sure. You see, even though I've had it for years, I've never actually read through it. I think I'm going to retrieve it from the attic tomorrow and read it. Then I'll decide whether or not to put it up for sale. Who knows, perhaps it's not as rare as I thought and won't be worth selling. Or I may like it so much I just decide to keep it regardless. I'm reading Derren Brown's Tricks of the Mind at the moment (bloody brilliant it is, too) and the chapter on memory is just fascinating.
Does anyone else own Dominic O'Brien's book? Surely it can't be that rare that it's selling for upwards of £50? I just find that hard to believe because the book is not that old.
I'm going on a bit now, so I'll stop.
