Aces Routine tricks?

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Maybe even face up, but it will take me some work to figure that one out.. But more importantly fully impromptuable

Olivier Macia has a nice, impromptu ace routine where he places (and literally does so) the 4 aces in the middle. Then, he turns the back upside down and one at a time, the aces appear on the face of the deck. Then, with a snap and a turn of his wrist, the aces disappear and are back in the center of the pack, face-up. Also, there's the Phoenix Aces, which is always a fun one.

There's a nice one on David Stone's Vol 1 where you keep cutting to the aces instead of the card, the aces are all face-up though.
The card is then cut to last and you can do something with the aces and the chosen card - a transposition of some sort?

It requires the ability to faro pretty well, but you should definitely have a look at Ed Marlo's Ace cutting effect. I learnt it from the Andrew Wimhurst DVD where the spectator cuts the aces and I use it all the time... Im not just saying that (like soo many adverts for magic tricks to buy! I really do use it loads.

Have you seen Zenneth King of Keighley's double face-up off-balance transpo?

He's started doing it with aces now. I love this.

Damn he's good. But that one's not impromptu though. But way out of my league anyway :)

A few that I don't think were mentioned.

Dunbury's Delusion

Spelling Collin's Aces - the 4 aces are lost in the deck, only to be found by spelling to them.

Henry Christ's Fabulous Four Ace Trick - an amazing effect. As much as I love this, I would recommend Bannon's variation (Beyond Fabulous - from Dear Mr. Fantasy), which is one of my all-time favorite card routines. This routine isn't 100% off the cuff - but it requires very little prep - and you can use a borrowed deck to perform it.

Yeah that's what I figured. Unless he's even more skilful than he appears to be.

Have you checked out any of his other stuff?

He's skillfull and his pass is one of the best I've seen. But sometimes I wonder if his tricks are a bit too complicated if you know what I mean..

Anywho, the card jumping higher and higher in the deck was awesome :)

I like mercury (effect: You make aces turn over one by one until you reveal four aces or turn them into aces)
Otherwise I like shotgun aces and say: "Here I'm gonna prepare the deck in front of you"

There's an excellent four ace effect on The Card Artistry of Andrew Wimhurst.

It's his version of Marlo's Spectator Cuts The Aces.

It will require the ability to do a perfect faro but is well worth the effort, blows people away.

Cheers,

Mike

I don't think you should add coins to what is supposed to be an exclusively Ace routine.

it might work as a lead into a coin routine but I agree with monker, I wouldn't use it if you're meant to be doing a pure card routine

Produce the Aces using Piet Forton Pop-out Move. Then go into McDonalds Aces.

Twisting the aces is published in one of Dai Vernons book. I can't remember which one though, I think it may be 'More inner secrets of card magic'
